If you all like to drink alcohol I would defiantly recommend signing up for the tastings. The tastings are non-refundable $15.00 but you typically get 5 cocktails and using simply division; that's only 3.00 per drink. Be careful with the back-to-back tastings. If you are of light weight or a lightweight, the ship can start to spin after 2 consecutive tastings. The tastings are a great way to meet your bar tenders. I have been able to keep in contact with several bar tenders on different ships. Mixology is by far my favorite one. And here are two tips. If you want to do tastings, go to Guest Services 3 Deck Mid immediately after you board and sign up. There is a 15 person capacity* However if you get sidetracked and miss signing up; and the tasting has reached capacity, don't worry... the bartender that hosts has the ability to take on extras. If you go to mixology and the bartender rotation is still the same from last week, tell Damian the Baby Guinness passenger says "hi;" he'll know what that means.
All the after dinner events in the Tube are great. Match your Mate, Battle of the Sexes and other variety shows... They are adults only (which balances the mouse ears theme) and offers a lot of fun. If you are going in a couple of weeks, would will get to meet Frankie a.k.a. Mr. Tight Pants. He is an excellent MC for the Tube entertainment.
Take in all the variety shows you can. Some are hit or miss depending on your tastes; but in my opinion most or hits.
The trivia events are okay; very routine. I would say the enjoyment has more to do with the person running the trivia (and participants) than anything else.
Hope this helps.
