I was just looking at the schedule for New Year's Eve at the Magic Kingdom and Wishes is scheduled for 10pm and then "Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks" at midnight. Is this a special New Year's show? Has anyone ever seen it? How is it?

i've seen it every year and its great i like it alot but after 5 years it gets a little boring its special because for new years theres proabably going to be a TON of people at magic kingdom and epcot cause of the firewroks and at fantasmic theres not alot of people compared to magic kingdom because people think your crazy for staying up that late but the promblem is that if you get there early theres not alot of people there but you have to wait so long untill the show starts

"Fantasy in the Sky" is the name of the fireworks show that existed before "Wishes". They still do an awesome extended version of it for the 4th of July and New Year's. It's awesome! I didn't realized they do both for NYE--I can't wait to see it all this winter! =)

It is a WONDERFUL show. Wishes is nice...but boy, do I miss Fantasy in the Sky!!!!!! You'll love it!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited now!! New Year's Eve is my birthday so that makes it even more special! My parents will be with us so we were planning to all go to dinner at the California Grill and then my parents will watch my kids/put them to bed while DH and I go to the Magic Kingdom for Fantasy in the Sky. Will I be able to get into the Magic Kingdom just for fireworks or will it probably be filled to capacity?

Bump, I was already on the second page! Anyone know anything about the Magic Kingdom on NYE? Think I'll be able to get in around 10pm?

Not Likely. They tend to close the Parks to all but resort guests early in the day. They make no promise that you can get back in later in the day if you leave so the earlier you get there the better off you are.

I didn't know they do Wishes and Fantasy In The Sky!! I have to come back one NYE!!!!!!! (I miss that one)

Okay, well, has anyone ever watched the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian? How are they from there?

I really want to see Fantasy in the Sky from in the park, but I know we don't wnat to be in the Magic Kingdom all day. Since we have annual passes and we will be staying at the Poly we will probably give it a shot but it sounds like we will be watching from the beach!

I think MK will be filled to capacity unless there is bad weather. Why not watch from the California Grill? Linger after dinner for a cocktail or dessert and see the fireworks from there?

FYI...If you leave the CG after dinner, they may not let you back up.
You could have dinner with the family, and make another ressie for you and DH for afterwards. :)
