Hello. I booked a cruise on the Fantasy - Deck 6 (Cabin 6538). Any pros/cons to this deck and more specifically this cabin? I've only been on Deck 8 before so not sure if there is much of a difference. Thank you.

We're in the same boat (both literally and figuratively). We've been on the Fantasy twice, both in the same cabin on Deck 8. This time, we're booked on Deck 6. Same area of the ship, but just two decks down. Our cruise is coming up in a few weeks and I'll post back after the cruise with any differences I notice.

On the Fantasy we have stayed on deck 5 once deck 6 twice and deck 7 (same room)twice deck 9 once and deck 10 once. All of the rooms were either mid ship or forward. As far as I was concerned we have never had a bad room. No mater the room location you are going to have a bit of distance to travel no mater where you are going on the ship. Lower decks you are closer to the gangway to get off the ships while in port. Higher up on the ship you are closer to the pool deck.

Your room looks to be close to the forward stairs/elevators, that makes it easier to get around. You take the elevator to deck 11 go through the adult pool area and you are near the counter service restaurants, ice cream, the beverage stations and the pool deck. Walk down 2 decks and you are near the Walt Disney Theater balcony seating and down the hall the Buena Vista theater. Go down one more deck and you are near the stores.
I think it is a good location but that is only my opinion.

I was not in that room but I did not find much of a difference being on a higher floor versus deck six. I did NOT like that the forward elevators opened directly into the adult-only area on the pool deck, which was awkward with kids, and I did find that a lot of what we wanted to do was aft (breakfast in cabanas, activities in D lounge and Evolution), so that was a bit of a hike. But you are not that far from the midship elevators so that is more of an option for you than it was for us all the way at the front. I do think that room is also over the extended verandah on deck five which I know some people find to be a bit less private since the deck 5 people can look directly up and see you.

Every room has pros and cons, of course. I don't think it is a bad choice, if that helps.

Pro: The cabin is located between decks with cabins above and below [= less noise from above or below]. You are not under the pool deck or next to the anchor.

Con: Your cabin is in front of the entrance to the forward elevator/stairs area. You may hear other passengers.

Our first trip on the Fantasy was just a few weeks ago. We were on deck 7, slightly aft. Lots of stairs either way, to wherever you want to go. And I take the stairs- alot-helps with all those desserts! What my considerations are when choosing a cabin is what is above me-is there deck chairs going to be scraping the roof of my cabin early in the morning? (happened to us on the Magic). Are we too close to a bank of elevators?- noisy. Is there a noisy theater or something else (resturant) above me? Beside me? In the case of the Fantasy there are problems with vibration in the aft-so you don't maybe want to be too far aft if you think it might bother you. Not sure any of this may be helpful to you, but some things to think about. Hope you have a great cruise!
