Fantasy cruise to Bahamas

So excited! Just booked the 3-night Disney Fantasy to the Bahamas on May 17, 2017, with two stops at Castaway Cay (no Nassau).

Yes, I said Fantasy.

We also booked this cruise! Although we only like to go on the 7 night ones.. but we weren't planning a Disney cruise for 2017 so this is sort of a "filler" cruise for us and hoping to pair it with a couple of days at WDW afterwards since it's a long weekend in Canada. I hope we don't have to cancel, right now I can't find any deals on flights or WDW so a lot will depend on that.... This cruise is rumored to be the first one after Fantasy's dry dock and the 2 back-to-back days at Castaway Cay sound awesome. Although I was hoping this means you get to stay on the island until at least 6 pm but I read somewhere this is not the case. We'll see

I don't mean to sound ignorant.. (honestly didn't check) but I didn't think this cruise was much more than a regular 3 night cruise on the Dream during the same time? Is it much more? We booked using our placeholder so saved a bit that way...came to about $2000 for verandah category for 3 of us.
Oh and you can still be first on the ship, you can beat us to it and board first!
Just don't touch anything until I get there lol, just kidding.

What is expected to be done to the Fantasy in dry dock? I'm a little nervous to hear it's the first sailing after dry dock. Things tend to not get finished on time.

Nothing has been officially announced yet. Since the Fantasy is the newest ship, I'd expect the purpose of the dry dock to mainly be for the required hull inspection, plus some refreshing. Some changes that were made on the Dream will likely happen to the Fantasy, i.e. revamp the kids' clubs, remove the arcade and put something in its place (Vanellopes?).

I think the price shock for me was that it was more than 1/3 the cost of the 7 day we are going on. But I forgot about an OBB we have, and then when you price it comapratively AND the fact it is a double CC trip.... it seems priced well, especially if it ends up with some problems on board.

We'll save some of the changes for you to play with first!!! I just don't want to end up on some bloggers page with me in a bathing suit

We will be on this cruise as well! It's our first time on the Fantasy too. So excited for this cruise and 2 stops at CC!

OhioWDWDuo: Congratulations to you as well. Looking forward to seeing the differences from the Dream. You'll enjoy the CC double dip. We did one a few years back and the time there still went by too quickly.

We just booked this cruise also! When we done our first double dip, we assumed the ship would stay docked all night at CC and we could stay on the island later. Negative. All aboard time is still the same (4:45 I think) and the ship leaves. You dock again in the am.

I noticed this as well. I booked a Cat V and it's been showing as sold out. I'm seeing availability this morning, but the cost is up about $250 from what I paid on Saturday.
