Fantasy check in?

I used my PC/desktop.

Thanks. My phone is old and terrible, and my phone app skills lacking. Hope using the PC is efficient, because there are six of us in two rooms and we want a decent PAT.

Hey there - I did online check-in for both our 9/4 and 9/11 using my PC/laptop; I learned a few lessons from the 9/4 check-in that I applied to the 9/11 check-in…

> put all the photos you captured in a single directory before you start the check-in process (i.e., don’t put each person’s info in separate subdirectories) - the UI remembers the last upload directory you used when you click the upload image button for each passport or selfie. Otherwise, multiple mouse clicks and the possibility of messing up increases, especially if you’re rushing to check in a lot of people in your travel party in order to get a preferable PAT.

> make sure you snap your passport photos with the passport page flat on the table AND with no reflective glare bouncing back at your camera. Others have mentioned that the web site uses form recognition software to automagically fill in data fields (i.e., name, passport number, expiration date) next to the passport image. If the software can’t read the data off the image, you’ll have to type it all in by hand, so make sure you have access to the passport or zoomed image where you can refer to it without wasting (precious) minutes trying to find the passport. I had my iPad next to me with the images open, just in case.

> make sure you have ALL your flight information for everyone in your travel party at the ready - if you have connecting flights, you are asked for ALL connecting flight information, both arriving and departing. I also noticed that some transportation options were grayed out on ours, presumably because we have (for the moment, anyway ;)) DCL ground transportation confirmed on our bookings.

Exactly my situation. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the great tips. I've been arranging the photos, etc. We're in different places all over the country-- our adult children are in different states and trying to get them to give me what I need has been like herding cats.

You’re welcome - I hope that helps! I had the same dilemma with a geographically-dispersed travel party - including the herding cats part! It ended up becoming a just-in-time exercise, but I got everything I needed. :-)

By the way, based on the order they have you go through the check-in process, I’d resist any temptation to try to do everything for one person first, then everything for the second person, etc. Just do all the passport information for everyone first, and so on. Oh — I forgot, there’s also the on-board charging section - telling them who can charge on-board on whose card — I just put everyone on my CC to ”speed run” that part; you can always fix that at Guest Services on the ship (or go back and edit your selections after you’ve got your PAT).
