Fantasy: best Oceanview stateroom

I saw you already picked a room, but thought I'd reply in case someone else looks at this thread for a cabin. We have stayed in cabin 2556 4 times. The first time I was worried because it is close to Enchanted Garden. But it is a great location. Never heard any noise from the restaurant, above us, or in the hallway during any of the 4 cruises. I am a really light sleeper so I will always pick this cabin when available. It's also not a connection cabin. You take a "hidden" hallway to get to it. Because of this, there's very little traffic in the hallways. There's no cabin across from it either. We've also sailed on the Wonder twice and the Magic once, and 2 other times on the Fantasy in different cabins and this has been the best cabin location.

I never even considered deck 2 because it’s fairly close to elevators and I hate late night noise. Like you, I’m also a very light sleeper. It sounds perfect, and it’s midship. Did the elevators bother you? I guess not, lol, and I guess you didn’t find yourself top far from activities?

I wonder if I should consider switching to 2556, if that’s even possible

It's not close to the elevators so no noise from them. I feel like getting an elevator from deck 2 is easier than when we were on deck 5 or 6. We use the stairs if we're just going to deck 3 or 4.

The cabins are down a hidden hallway, so no foot traffic except for people staying in those cabins. They do not connect to another cabin, so no noise through the door (have experienced that way too many times!). They are not right next to the elevators, so no noise there. There’s a laundry room on deck 2. Other than going up to deck 11/12, we usually take the stairs. The only thing I don’t like about the area is you can’t get to the aft elevators from deck 2, but we can deal with that. DH doesn’t care for a verandah, so no reason to spend the extra money. We’re taking extended family to Alaska in 2025 & will stay on deck 2 again, probably a little more midship since we’ll want connecting cabins. Out of 25 cruises, we’ve stayed on deck 2 in that area 15 times.

Did you feel you were much further away from the pools, etc..?

In any case, I made the switch - yay!

They are only a elevator ride away. The cruise ship is not like a resort, everything is compact and very quick and easy to get to. Other than embarkation day when people are confused about how to get around the ship, getting from point A to point B will take 5 minutes max!

Good point!

I’m very shoot with the switch - I’ll post about it afterwards !
