**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

Since we have a wedding to attend 2 days before the cruise and will happen to have the clothes with us, we will be somewhat dressed up for formal night. Jacket and tie for the boys, dresses for the girls. Probably will wear similar attire for the semi-formal night, although it is all new for us, so we'll decide as we go. Generally, we are very casual and only dress up for special occasions, except my little one who will probably be sporting Minne/Princess attire most dinners.
We're going to try to get a Palo reservation when we board the ship. :goodvibes

Our cruise documents arrived via FedEx on Tuesday, so things are starting to feel real now. I still have to make our FE, so that's my next project. I'm not too crafty, so my fingers are crossed!

I was going to wear a formal and buy tuxes off ebay for the boys and DH...reading the lovely heated threads about MDR dress issues popcorn:: which are almost as fun as the tipping threads popcorn:: .....I am thinking I am going to be one of the only ones dressed to the nines...DH sees this, I'm in deep do-do :rotfl: sooooooooo does anyone else plan on this cruise going all out...or should I make the boys happy and do the dress slacks and shirt and tie for them and a nice semi formal or other would wear to a wedding type dress..... :confused3

OK, girl, I'm with you. But I will admit that my (3) boys are not.

I have a gold sequined Michael Kors wrap dress and two Halston Heritage cocktail dresses. I've lost 90 lbs since August and I am going to try to rock them. :) My husband, who wore a blue blazer and khakis on our last cruise, has conceded a black suit this time around. It kind of tickles me that he's bringing a suit and tie from Afghanistan to Orlando, something oddly out of sync there, but he's a good man and up for it. The little guys will have nice shorts and cute button-down cruise shirts I found at Old Navy last year. simple. I think we're like everyone, a mixed bag. Which is what's so cool about the Disney vibe, no one cares and everyone's happy.

And Jamie, don't feel like you're co-opting, keep posting, you keep it interesting!

Oh, and as for our screen name, it comes from the Toot and Puddle series of books and TV shows (I know, not Disney! horrors!). The show is about two pigs who travel all over the world, but always come back to home. The theme song is Boomerang (below). Mommy and Daddy travel as do we all together, and the boys need to know we always come to center. Oh, and we are a family of four.

Your friends may travel far away
But they won't be gone for long
A boomerang flies, but always returns
Home where it belongs!

Fly my friend, fly my friend
And while you're away
I'll be thinkin' about you
Each and every day
How we laugh and play
In the winds that blow
All my friends, are you ready?
Come, let's go!

Ok, so is it just me, or does it seem like NO ONE from the maiden voyage is really talking?!?! :headache: I know they had a long awesome vacation, had to head home and back to reality......it takes some time to upload and edit photos and videos...but really?!?! COME ON the rest of us are dying here!!!!:sad2:

Hooooraaaahhhh just found this!! I am not sure how many of you have seen or found this yet...but a fun blog from Allears....and PICTURES!!!! ENJOY!

Hi Jaimie,

I think the dress rule seems to be wear what you are comfortable with! Hannah and I will be wearing long dresses on formal night, and either long or really nice short dresses for the semi formal. Bryan will be wearing the suit he had for Elisa and Terry's wedding on both the formal and semi formal nights with different shirts and ties. It's the one in our photo on page one. :thumbsup2 We all have pirate costumes for the pirate night. pirate: The other nights were will be wearing smart casual outfits, nice skirts or pants and tops, or not so 'dressed up' dresses. I was glad to read you will be getting dressed up too, and that others have responded saying they will dress up too.

I'm also a bit frustrated at the non appearance of any info from the MV - checking daily but nothing seems to appear.

I love reading everybody's posts, and can't wait to meet you all, so don't even think of slowing down, please.

Elaine :cloud9:

Well that explains your avatar as well!!! :thumbsup2

We need a meet and greet!!! We are anxious to meet everyone that we have 'met' here on the boards!!!!

Soooooo....who has done the meet and greet before and what has worked well?

I also think we need to finalize the template for the lanyard inserts. I really like the Dumbo design----kudos to the creator (know that I'm at work and shouldn't be on here, so looking up a name ins't possible right now)......nice job!!!!

For anybody who's interested, there are blogs about Royal Court and Palo on **************.net. :thumbsup2 The guy writing them seems a little over fussy to me, but you do get some idea of the menus and ambiance.

We got our cruise documents today :cool1::banana::woohoo: but I do have a quick question. It shows our dinner at Palo as a table for 2 but I'm the only guest listed, my DH is not listed as a guest. Is this the way it is done for everyone going to Palo, only 1 registered guest? I tried finding our actual reservation on the website and I can't see it. I did try to get the Palo dinner that is already available and it says we are already booked.

We did a meet and greet at the bar on deck 4 last year on the Dream. We had it at 3:00 and had a decent turnout. I thought it was a little tight for space but it was fairly easy to spot other disers because of our lime green bracelets.

We got our luggage tags today, but no cruise documents. I thought they will come together. Did you get everything at once?

Cruise luggage tags (the long blue peel and stick ones) come with the booklet/cruise documents. Really the only thing you need out of there are the tags. You print your actual cruise contract/signature form off the website after you do online check in. Not sure why we get so excited about receiving the silly luggage tags, but we do :confused3 I guess it just means its getting really close.

It is only the luggage tags and the spiral notebook. That's where I saw I was the only listed for Palo.

Ok....so lately this seems to be the Jaimie thread...or I am the only one who has aquired the unhealthy addiction to the Disboards....:rolleyes1

I think I asked this question before....tried to find the answer and I can't.....

:confused3

We don't have to dress up....getting them all dressed would be like wrestling a honey badger X3 but I and I am sure in my family only I would think it's worth the effort...either way, their happiness doesn't matter :lmao: it's clearly all about me....but I don't want to be all alone here in my awesomeness....any other takers?

If not, I'm ok with that too...and DH will gladly pay you once onboard the ship!!:rotfl2:

So, DH will wear a suit, not a tux. I have several cocktail dresses that I will wear for the 2 dressy nights and Palo dinner...they are knee-length, a bit sparkly or basic black w/ a sequin jacket. Jewels: only bringing my Disney collection, so not really anything fancy other than a sparkly Mickey pendant I picked up last time I was at Arriba Crystal in DTD and some sparkly Mickey earrings...if you see me around, I have Mickey earrings in all colors and designs that I only wear when "at Disney"! We also have pirate: hats: DH has a tri-corner and I have a Ears/scarf/earring combo!

I have been on several DCL cruises, and dress on the "formal" nights runs the gamut from not at all dressy to long dresses and tuxes - whatever floats your boat!

Thanks. I just noticed that you live in Jacksonville, we live in Julington Creek Plantation off Race Track Rd.

Oh my goodness it has been way too long since I have been on here! Just getting caught up from around page 74!! We have been short at work and I have been working extra :sad1:
We are definitely still doing the FE exchange (we are on the list and both my children are girls but you could probably figure it out from the names Alyssa and Ansley ;) ).
My dis name comes from my career. I take care of sick babies as a nurse practitioner (the abbreviation is CRNP for certified registered nurse practitioner).:)
I have to go and try to finish up the FE gifts! I can't wait to meet everyone and enjoy our cruise. We got our luggage tags today too :dance3:

Ok...soo for the Jaimie boards:lmao:

My name on here is Jaymepops which is my email addy from way back in the day when they told you not to use your real name......so I moved things around a bit...my name is Jaimie Poplin...so I changed it to Jaymepops and I have used it for years! The spelling of my name is NEVER correct...so I go by whatever and decided I might as well misspell it too.....

I think for formal wear that I will put the boys in suits that transfer to just shirt and tie for semi..I Have enough attire to suit...let alone shoes...the hardest part to pack...when it comes to shoes and purses... Imelda Marcos has nothing on me and my Spanish best friend and neighbor! I have over 300 and the Spaniard has about 400...we share closets so we WIN! :cool1: Although I love to just go barefoot or flippies...so that is what you will most see me in on the cruise......I should so post pictures of my closet..I do tours you know! :rotfl2:

Cruise Docs...much love to all that have them...I was scrubbing the tiles and grout in the main foyer today......saw the UPS and FedEx guy drive by with big hopes and....nothing....not so much as a ghost fart of a luggage tag or a doc...........

Ahhhhh the meet and greet...the looked forward to yet often skipped over joining of like-minded souls who have shared for months on end...........None of mine from cruise critic have gone well.....It's always been an awkward turn of events.....DH loves the info hates the group gathering......I can pass it off or go with full steam.....If anyone/or all will be in port the night before...might I suggest Fishlips......before the sensuality and allure of the Fantasy carries us all away..... We will be arriving mid-day on Friday the 18th....and plan on eating and enjoying there anyway. Watching the Friday ships go out...I also want to see where to wave on Saturday..........those of us who are already in port, could by chance meet there! You could actually get a glimpse of my elusive husband-fish. If you buy him a few shots of Crown.... you win him for the night! He'll be "on the whisky!" He's friendly and opens up and actually chats! LOL How he married me, I'll never figure it out! On-board I can't say yes or no to anything...as soon as I step foot on that beautiful shop, I could be lost to the love...

nametags...only help to give here is to either have everyone email their home addys to 1 person to have them print and send them out...or we each print our own off the templates....I'll go with either....we could mail back $5.00 to the person willing to spend time and ink to get them together.....I'll go with majority rule here....but they are fun to have and to see walking around the ship. I know this from past cruises! I wouldn't go without them...:sad2:

ok...I have a 1st grade field trip in the morning......:scared1: gonna head to bed!

Oh I know where you are. We're on the west side of jax. Not real happy about where we are but nothing is selling right now. Eventually we'll get down to central Florida.

We are dressing up for Formal, and Semi Formal night, I am going with my new dress for Formal Night and for Remy (yes I am going to double dip the dress) because in my everyday life I don't dress up and being a student I can't afford to buy two formal dresses. I am going to bring 2 short cocktail dresses 1 for Semi Formal and 1 for Palo dinner. Those I've had for quite sometime but haven't worn either because I don't have reasons to!

No Cruise Documents here yet. Yes I live 12 mins from Celebration where DCL is headquartered but I'm still waiting. Sigh.

In terms of the Name Tags, I think it probably easier if we use the template and print our own that way we don't have to worry about postage etc.

Was really bummed that they took tea away and added more brunch times but are not starting it until August for the Fantasy. I would love to do Brunch but it was full when we did our reservations. We never got a chance to do Tea but since we go to the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian a few times a year we figured missing it wouldn't be that big of an issue.

***** 36 Days***** Yay! I can't believe how long we have been waiting and how close it is getting to our cruise! :D
