Fantasy- 7 night Western- August 4, 2012

This was our first cruise and we had a blast! I can now understand why people love cruising! Thanks to everyone on this forum for their helpful suggestions and replies to my queries.

Hi everyone! Back in England .

Back to the cold, rain, wondering what the third pedal in my car does after a month driving an automatic, work (Andy sent 3 people direct to hospital on his first morning as they had been waiting for their favourite Dr to return before coming in after their heart attacks!!! ), A-Level results yesterday morning (well done Sophie on getting into Birmingham!! ) and then Sophie coming down with a 24 hour bug. . (Matt - sorry, she's not ignoring you!)
Thanks so much to everyone for the great FE gifts - it was such fun! It was wonderful to meet many of you and we hope everyone had as much fun as we did. Didn't it go so quickly though?

PS We had no choice but to re-book on board in the hope of making it onto the Western! 17th Aug 2013!!

We got back to the uk yesterday morning too...but it's glorious sunshine here, almost like back in Orlando. Glad you had a good trip, well done Sophie on excellent results, my nephew got 3 a's and is off to Manchester Uni.

We also booked again onboard for the western on the magic at Easter next year...another B2B I believe going from Galveston which will be new for us!

How are things in London? Have they settled down from the Olympics?

We were super excited when we got home to learn that one of our local boys took silver in the high jump. 7'8". CRAZY! He was on David Letterman the other night and had a really fun and funny interview. What a neat experience for him!

Anywho.... glad you are back safe and sound. Have so much fun on your trip next year. I hope that you make it to the Western!

Hello everyone, I am so glad to see that all made it home safely. We are still in withdrawls, though we did stay a few days at WDW after the cruise it just isn't the same. The good news is we did book another cruise before we left so we will be sailing again. Next time though it will be on the Wonder for Bahamian cruise 4/4/13. I want to thank everyone for the great gifts in the FE's, I must admit it being my first time and not really knowing how to do it I kinda forgot to put who our gifts were from. Forgive me please, but those in the FE's nameless were probably from me. Next time I will try to remember. Thanks to everyone for all the advice and tips it really helped, and thanks to those who had teens that hung out in vibe and helped keep my teen happy. She is still in touch with some of them and I hope someday we can all get together again.

So glad that Eleanor was able to get into Vibe and be with Kaitlyn. And Eleanor tells me that we were in Senor Frogs on St Thomas at the same time too, wish we'd known at the time so we could have said hi.

The post-holiday blues have hit hard here, we'd been planning this whole trip for so long... Have to admit to being worried about Sophie leaving home as well, as much as I know she'll have a wonderful time. I'll miss her so much!! Once we know her term dates I can book our Christmas flights, so hopefully that will help a bit.

My teen had a blast with the Vibe group. They Facebook and oovoo (sort of like skype) all the time. She seems to have made real friends.

Hi theB2B with identical itinerary was actually ok. We have done b2b with repeat before when we sailed Alaska as there was so much to see and do...and infact worked out well as the second week had exceptional weather.

As for the eastern the second weeks visit to St Maarten worked out better as the weather the week before was awful, torrential rain and winds, but we didn't hav excursions booked that day so we just plodded around the stores while the kids stayed on ship. The second week, rob and I mountain biked....I haven't been on a bike in over 20 years until the previous weeks castaway cay visit when we hired bikes for the first time....that was good but the mountain bike nearly killed me lol! Saying that though I am buying myself a bike for my 40th birthday in 3 weeks time...I will get fit and have fun with the kids! It was a lovely way to see the island. It didn't bother me that shows and performers , and films were repeats, I went To many again and enjoyed them just as much. The first week we had an inside stateroom with virtual porthole...that was really fun, we all enjoyed trying to guess which character was going to pop up when the pixie dust appeared. Normally we have a verandah or outside porthole room. The second week we moved up to concierge! That was also a first an a great treat....they were lovely up there the service was great and it was so nice to pop up to the virtually empty sun deck most days and curl up in a circular sofa for a nap or to read a book! Or to goto the lounge for a quick snack and a lovely coffee or a cocktail before dinner.

captain Tom was enjoying his last week before vacation playing the Mickey horns lots....they only got played once in full the week before during sail away at castaway cay!. We were in an elevator, just rob and I coming down to deck 3 from 12. We stopped at deck 10 and Tom got in the elevator with us, asked if we were going to 3 and when we said yes, he overrode the system to give 3 priority.., a perk of the job he said. We rode down without stopping at a faster speed he was heading to captains signing. He asked us if we were enjoying the trip, apologised for the route change and thanked us for sailing DCL.

All in, it was a lovely trip...very relaxing.

We did book a western from Galveston next Easter but they have changed the itinerary and we are not keen as it's now key west CC and PC with WDW day....so we have cancelled. Don't know when will cruise again.

We had a great time on the fantasy, and I was glad that I got to meet a few of the teens on here in Vibe as well.
As far as the FE goes, I forgot to put our names on them as well, so if you all received the Mickey magnets with your favorite disney characters on them, those were from us
Thank you so much for all of the other wonderful gifts. I definitely need to step up my game for the next FE, whenever that will be.

Hi Jo, the B2B sounds as though it was great, and concierge sounds amazing!! What a great moment in the lift with Captain Tom - I didn't realize he didn't usually play the horn medley so much.

Taylor - thanks so much for your FE gifts!! Andy particularly appreciated his Jessica Rabbit magnet. Hope you get to cruise again.

Sophie and I have just booked a quick trip next week to the WDW Pin Event - Mickey's Circus - a great mum/daughter trip before she goes!!!!
