Fantastic Four: The First Steps

I am very hopeful for this one. I think setting it in the 1960s in a retrofuture Earth is a fabulous idea. Really lean into that time period like WandaVision did. Same creator of that show.

I really like the style. I heard that they might be mining some of the comics material from a writer that I really don't like though. Then agian, the MCU has fixed a lot of BAD comic stories before, so it might work out.

Which writer? You can spoiler tag it if you want.

Well, it's controversial in comic book circles, but Jonathan Hickman. As far as I'm concenred they can never use a single idea of his.

This looks like fun, i could be persuaded...

Love the cars and the retro future vibe

I was disappointed that at my recent trip from DLR that there was nothing (and I mean nada-zip-zero) regarding F4. And DLR sits adjacent to Hollywood and has the Avengers Campus land. What's up with that?

I know the movie still doesn't come out for a few weeks, but there wasn't any merchandise (in Avengers Campus or otherwise -- and I asked CMs at an outdoor kiosk, 2 stores in Avengers Campus, 2 stores on Buena Vista Street and World of Disney in DTD), character meets, movie posters, music, etc. It was disappointing. I wanted to see if they had a cool hat or something for me to buy for opening night. Alas, no. Interestingly, several CMs I spoke with about merchandise didn't even understand what I was talking about when I mentioned F4. Like do they know that F4 is being released this month? Very strange.

But, I bought my tickets and my DS and I are the first to buy tickets at our local theater for the Thursday 7:00 p.m. preview. Hopefully, Superman does well and brings some of the general movie audience hyped or back to the theaters to see F4 too. Fingers crossed its good.
