Is the fantastic dinner pkgs worth doing? We've never seen the show and are wondering what the best scenario is to do? Dinner pkg or just get something and bring it in.
Thanks!

I've never done the Fantasmic dinner. What we usually do though is figure you have to arrive a good 45 minutes to an hour before the show for prime seating. They have a hotdog/other type food stand at the top of the bleachers. We get our seats and then send one person to get food and bring it back. Then eat in the seat while waiting for the show to start.

The show is IMHO the best Disney has to offer. I would not, however, bring a child to it younger than 5 or 6. Too scary for them.

Don't sit in the first couple rows - you'll get wet. The seating that's reserved for the dinner package people is good, but it's also off to the side. If you want front and center, you just have to get there early. I hear though the dinner people get a better entrance than the rest of us slobs who are pretty much hearded in like cattle. DH and I have been known to make "moo" noises as we're standing there waiting. :p

I totally agree with racheal95's recommendation. We've done it both ways. Go early, sit in the center of the stage, about 6 rows back (behind the splash zone) and enjoy one of the best shows WDW has to offer. Normally when we go, there's one show, which would be the same as the early show if there's two. I think we go about a hour & 1/2 before the show begins. For us, doing it that way is well worth the wait!

I think it depnds on your situation.

For us we are doing the package at Mama Melrose ($29 per adult, $10 per kid).

We have 3 kids (6, 4, & 2), so waiting online to get into the theater (one hour minimum from our past experiences, but usually 90 mins) is just NOT a good option with little ones.

For the price of the meal, and the amount we get, I think it is a GREAT deal. Plus we know we have reserved seating so we dont have to worry about waiting on the crazy long line.

I am looking forward to the dinner package!

We always do the dinner package. DH, DS-9, DD-7, hate waiting in line. Also, they like to eat in doors at a sit down restaurant for dinner. So it is a win win for us.

We always do the FDP and we like H&V. We did MM once, but like H&V more. June is a busy time and we don't want to wait in line for the show. If it's not busy, then it's probably not necessary. The dinner package doesn't cost more than a regular meal at H&V.

We have never done the FDP but plan to this time. It is the exact same price as dinner , so why not ?? We will also have our DD 8mo and I am not sure how well we will do waiting for 1+ hours for the show to start

When we went in Nov we did not do the package. It was not a problem... we went in an hour early ( should have went in a little earlier than that for a better seat)
We sat and ate before the show. This time we are going in april so we thought we would try the package. Will be interesting to see which we like better.
