:wizard: Hey everybody. Can anyone tell me what fantasmic is. I have looked for it but I havent found a good explanation of what it is. Is it just a show or a dinner show, and what kind of show and what characters and the story and anything else. Thanks :earsboy:

Fastasmic is an evening show at MGM. It is a must see. You do need to be there at least 2 hours before the show. It does fill up quickly. Actually for my family we have not seen in since 2001. We tried to see it in '03 and '04 filled. We should have learned our lesson to arrive early.

From what I can remember it starts with Mickey. There are screens set up so you see clips of disney movies. Characters come out on a boat and go around the lagoon. I know I am not giving you much, but I am sure that someone out there has been there recently can give your more info. :earsgirl:

It's part live-action, part cartoon, part fireworks. It's pretty amazing. Make sure you get there early enough (at least 30 minutes before the show starts). It's open arena seating. They don't serve dinner, but there are a few food vendors at the entrance and you can bring food into the arena.

I think you can find great info at www.allearsnet.com.

It's just about my favorite part of WDW since the 1st time I saw it. Try not to find out *too* much info about it you wouldn't want to spoil the surprises, just get there early to get a good seat (midway between the front and back of the arena) and enjoy the magic!

Paul.

You can also get good seats reserved for you by booking a dinner package at Mama Melrose, Hollywood Brown Derby or Hollywood & Vine.

You cannot miss Fantasmic. It has so much in it to entertain everyone. It is a great tribute to animation and to Mickey and many of our favourite characters.

If you do not want to get wet, do not sit too close. We went three times in 2000 and showed up 2 hours ahead the first time only to have the show cancelled right about show time due to an electrical storm in the area. We showed up about an hour before the next show and had wonderful seats on the left and then returned a few days later and showed up at the very last minute and had very good seats totally to the right. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house.

Enjoy!

p.s. I think that if you are worried about getting a seat you should listen to the suggestion about getting the dinner package with Mama Melrose or the Brown Derby.

I am so excited as we have one of those dinner packages booked to see Fantasmic. We are really looking forward to it. Hope the food is good as well!

It's a great show.. Something you should see if at all possible.. Won't say much more than that, 'cause I don't want to ruin any surprises for you.. :flower:

I've seen it once - so glad I did - but it's no longer a "must" for me and when I go down next weekend I'll probably trade it off for something else I want to see..

You really should see it though, if you possibly can.. I don't think you'll be disappointed! :flower:

I thought I read somewhere that if you do the dinner show package, you're seats are not always that good and you are better off just doing the show by itself. Does anyone know if this is true?

We did the Dinner Package w/ Mama Melrose's and our seats were to the far right, but like someone else said- I don't think there are any "bad" seats. We saw everything just fine. It was nice not to have to worry about standing in line for two hours!

This is my favorite Disney show. The story is about Mickey and a nightmare he is having. Includes clips from many movies, the amazing thing is that it is projected onto a wall of water. Many characters throughout the show, villians, hero's, fireworks. You definately must see this! We went in March and the show was at 7:00 we went in at 6:00 and got great seats, but by 6:30 it was standing room only.
