Probably a silly question, but what exactly is Fantasmic? I know it's a show at DHS, but is it something we should do w/ a 2 and 4 year old, or skip? Also how do you find out what days they do it. I looked at the calendar on the Disney website, but it just shows the Block Party. Thanks and sorry if this has been asked a million times!

It's a fabulous outside show, that might be a little frightening for young children.

It's set on the water, there is really loud music and sound effects, with added bursts of fire and lasers. It's such a great show!! But, for the 2 year old, it might be a bit much. The 4 year old might even find it frightening. It gets pitch black in some spots (well, as pitch black as it can get) and there are parts that makes the whole audience startle occasionally, just because of the booming loudness.

The only other reason I think it might be a bit much for little ones is the sheer wait time. You're looking at at the minimum an hour early entry, more likely an hour and half to two hours....then the show....and then the exit, which can easily take another 45 minutes to get out many times. It's a long evening.

There are clips on You Tube that might help you make up your mind too.

Thanks so much! I found the schedule too. I think we will skip it this trip and wait until they are a little older. Mostly because of the wait at the beginning in order to get a good spot. Probably a good idea to avoid DHS on the Fantasmic days too I'm guessing. Thanks again!

If you can some how find some one to watch your kids for a half hour, you should definitely check it out.

Fantasmic is breath taking. All of the parks' fireworks/night time celebrations are great. I personally love Illuminations, but the first time I saw Fantasmic, I was in awe. It's an experience to say the least.

Though some parts of Fantasmic may frighten very young children, if you sit at the top of the stadium, you could try it. If the children were too afraid, you can simply leave. IMHO, it is a must see. We make it to a show each time we visit. I still get goosebumps. It is awesome. Whatever you decide, have a great vacation. :thumbsup2
