I 100% agree with DLR29 here. I think that it is way too expensive for what you get. F! is by far my MOST FAVORITE show at DLR and my trips are not complete without watching it. I have watched it from many different spots around ROA, including the reserved seating. After the seating, I guess that I can see how someone with some discretionary cash (as HydroGuy put it) would be willing to pay for the seating, but for us, it is totally not worth it, IMHO.
My kids won't touch anything in that dessert tray. And honestly, even at ages 5 and 6, they are too squirmy to sit in the folding chairs for 30-45 minutes without getting up, wiggling, or wanting to sit in my lap. They do fine in their strollers most of the time, and can wiggle more freely without me worrying they will tip the chair backwards, kick someone else's seat or pinch their fingers in the folding chair.
We always try to see the second showing and have NEVER had a problem finding decent seats, and we've been during slow seasons (mid-January, pre-spring break March) and VERY busy seasons (Columbus Day weekend, opening of WOC weekend, multiple spring breaks).
