We have a 2-day/1 park per day ticket traveling with my 80-ish (she will kill me if she knew I posted this) Mom. She will be on East Coast time so I would like to not do two late shows but am torn. If you had to choose, which show would you do and why?

Thanks in advance DISers...you always give great advice!! :goodvibes

Fantasmic. My favorite! The dessert boxes are yummy and you actually get a seat. With WOC you have to stand.

I am in agreement with Dahlia and Crystal that Fantasmic is a better show.
If you go for the first showing, you can stay in your seats and watch the fireworks.
Some tips to keep in mind for F! Dessert are that the seat assignments begin at 8pm for both shows. The seating is set up in three rows. Usually the first and last row are booked first. Sorter guests may not get a good view from the second row. People begin lining up for seat assignments as early as 6pm. If it matters to you where you view the show, you may be in for a wait. If it doesn't matter, then you can join the line closer to 8pm.

As most of you know, I think WOC is a better show. But if you are considering the dessert res for F! and you are with someone who is elderly (like your mother) I think that is better than standing for 90+ minutes to queue and then watch WOC.

Now, if everyone in the group was able to stand that long then I would choose WOC. :)

Another vote for Fantasmic, especially given your circumstances, and the dessert party.

(Disclaimer: I would always pick Fantasmic over WoC for a couple of reasons, one of which was mentioned by HydroGuy. I dislike the viewing area set-up because if you don't commit significant time into getting a spot, you'll miss out on too much of the show. For the general public, there is no seated viewing area (it's all standing room only). If you cannot see the water surface, you're missing half of the show. At that point, it just's a mist-screen shows with water canons.)

No contest...Fantasmic is a better show. WOC is a hassle, and it's standing.

Thanks everyone! I was leaning toward Fantasmic from the beginning...looks like that's where we'll be!

For seating assignments, does everyone in your party need to be there or can one person go for all?

We have seen both versions of WOC this last year and we will stick with "F" unless they change WOC again, too much elbow stuff for us.

We did it several years ago, but dh and my oldest got dinner and then sat in line eating it. We all joined them later. Not sure if that is still allowable or not.

Only one member of your party needs to line up for seating selection (but they must have all the tickets with them) and can choose seats for the whole party. Once you've selected seats, you're free to go and come back at 8:30 or later.
