:tigger: If you were only going to do one of these, which would you pick? I know they both look awesome, but I'm sure the kiddos (6 and 3) are going to be ready to crash at night when we are there. Thoughts?

Spectromagic is my pick, simply because night time seems the most magical time for the MK. There's just something I can't quite describe, but it's a feeling of being a kid again and as a kid it was the feeling of being right in the middle of someplace surreal. It's also my favorite parade in WDW.
:tinker:

Fantasmic is AWESOME!!!!:thumbsup2 It's just really really cool My kids (14,11,8, & 5) wouldn't miss it for ANYTHING!:goodvibes

Spectromagic.... It is def more magical... something about the night time, with the castle lit up and tink flying out can just put you into tears (of joy that is!!!).....Fantasmic is awesome and my kids love it, but if I had to choose one, it would be spectro!

I love them both:lovestruc
but considering the ages of your kids, I'd vote for Spectro...Fantasmic has been known to be too much for some little ones. :thumbsup2

Fantasmic.
My kids loved it. They were about the same age as yours the first time they saw it.

I am odd but I didnt really like Fantasmic. I loved Spectro!

How's this for stradling the fence.....

Fantasmic ONLY if you have a Fantasmic Dinner Package. Fantasmic seating seems to fill up at least an hour before the show (and then they close the line) and what are you going to do with those kids sitting on a bench for an hour??? If you have the dinner package, you can go in a separate entrance with seating saved for you with no line. If you go this route, book the dinner early. :thumbsup2

As for Spectromagic, if you know where to go, you can get a good spot to see it up untill a few minutes before the parade. Also, how can you beat the Magic Kingdom at night?

Spectro by far is the best parade/show at WDW in my opinion. I would chose that, especially with kiddos your age. I do like Fantasmic, but if you're only going to see one, you can't beat Spectro! Have a wonderful time!

I prefer Fantasmic; but if I were taking young children I'd choose Spectromagic. Fantasmic may be a little too intense for little ones.

It depends if it were the first time seeing either one. If that is the case, then I would say Fantasmic. BUT if you have seen both that is different. We have seen Fantasmic twice and that is enough for us. We skipped Spectro while were there last, so this trip we'll try to catch it again! :)

I vote Spectromagic! I am not a fan of Fantasmic. Fantasmic is something to see at least once, but it is intense and has scared many children. Spectromagic is magical and child friendly.

where is the Fantasmic Dinner Package? I have never heard of that.

Wishes is the fireworks at MK (with Tink flying overhead and the castle lit up), Spectromagic is a parade with floats and characters that have lights all over them.

You would not be able to do both Fantasmic and Spectromagic on the same night as they are at 2 different parks. Can you kids stay up later on 2 different nights?
Remember the possible time change if you're not in the Eastern time zone already. For us (Mountain Time) DS's usual 8:00 - 8:30 bedtime would equate to 10:00 - 10:30 to his body, plus we'd take a break for a nap each day, which he does not do at home.

In answer to your question though, I'd take kids that age to Spectro over F! if I had to choose just one because you don't know how they will react to all the villains they show in the F! show. It is a dark show with Mickey battling his 'nightmares'. Of course, good wins over evil, but it can freak out some kids.

where is the Fantasmic Dinner Package? I have never heard of that.

Info on the FANTASMIC DINNER PACKAGE can be found here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/fantasmic.htm

I would choose Spectromagic. They are both great shows, but one of my kids really was scared by Fantasmic when we first saw it. We avoided it for many years after that. We now go and both my kids love it, but they are much older now.

I loved them both..SPECTRO MAGIC is warm and fuzzy and MAGICAL...and FANTASMIC if FANTASTIC. Although, it may be intense at times(for some small children) it is truly awsome! My DD saw it for the first time when she was two and was o.k. She only got a little freaked during the villains portion and I explained it was just DISNEY MAGIC. If your concerned about the kids give them a preview of it on youtube, and feel them out. Either way if you have an opprtunity enjoy them both!

spectromagic if can only choose one. Its magical. We are going to do fantasmic with our little one, but we are going to leave after the princess floats, as it gets too intense after that point, plus we'd beat the rush to the buses.
