Fantasmic Show Package question

Hi! I'm really looking to clarify what the Fantasmic package at Hollywood Studios really is. I know if you eat at 1 of 3 restaurants, you get preferred seating at the show that evening. So, as long as I eat lunch or dinner at say, Mama Melrose, I am guaranteed a seat at the show? Someone told me it's still first come first serve for the preferred seating, so it may not be guaranteed. If that is the case, I may not want to eat at 1 of the 3 restaurants. I would much rather eat at 50's Prime Time Cafe, which is not part of the package. Is it worth eating at 1 of the 3 for the show & is a seat guaranteed? Thanks!

I tried to do this also. You must call the dining line at Disney and book the Fantasmic package. I called for August for Mama Melrose and the latest I could book for diner was 3:20 pm (that is not dinner!) I believe once you are booked (it may be a different menu also) then there is a block of reserved seating fo people who are on the package. That seating how ever is 1st come 1st serve. Hope this helps!! and good luck!:wizard:

Guaranteed is tricky here. Not only do you have to eat at one of the three places, you have to call in to be on the Fantasmic Dinner Package. So if you make a regular ADR online, that is NOT the FDP.

Also, you still need to get to the F! Theater 30 to 45 minutes ahead of showtime. If there are big crowds waiting for the show, they will release the FDP seats close to showtime.

We've done Fantasmic with and without the package. We're not big fans of any of those three restaurants so this trip we will be doing it without the package.

Hope that helps!

The package is useful during the busy season. Otherwise, I suggest forgoing it.

As others have said, you must call Disney and book the package specifically. After your meal, your server will present you with a voucher for seating at Fantasmic! The reserved seating is guaranteed, provided you arrive no later than 30 minutes before showtime. Also consider that the section for package guests is on the far side of the amphitheater and does not allow for the greatest view.

If you would prefer to eat at 50's Prime Time, I recommend skipping the package and simply queuing early for Fantasmic!

You have to call Disney and book the package specifically, you can't just dine at one of the three. You can either book a lunch or dinner package, with lunch only at the Hollywood Brown Derby or Mama Melrose. Good luck getting the package, since they have cut down on the Fantasmic showings per week the packages go like hot cakes. Be sure and call 180 days out. I called 175 and there was nothing. The day after they made the lunch packages available I called and once again they were all sold out immediately.

Yes, I called for our Oct trip. Fantasmic is showing 3 nights and there was not a F package for any of them. Also, the only reservation I could get at Mama Melrose was for 1:40 on a day F was showing.

You are not guaranteed a seat at the show.

What you do get is the opportunity to sit in a reserved section. Even then, at some point they do open the reserved section for public seating (I want to say 30 minutes before the show). If you show up around a half hour before the show you can sit in the reserved section, which might be better than waiting over an hour with the masses to sit wherever you can find a seat, or might not. But it may not help you if you show up right before the show starts.
