Fantasmic Restaurants and Seating Question

I am taking my Mother to WDW this February for 5 days, due to macular degeneration, her vision is poor.

I was wondering if we did the Fantasmic Dinner Package, would the seating be closer to the front? Also, what restaurant would you recommend?

I had thought I would take her to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater because I thought she would get a kick out of it, but I see that isn't an option for the Fantasmic package, and if the package seating had a better view for her, I think we should forgo Sci-Fi for another option. Also, I have only been during the busier Summer months before, so maybe in February the crowds wouldn't be as much of a consideration and we could find a seat up close without the package.

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks! :flower:

We did the fantasmic package in October and ate at the hollywood and vine which is an all you can eat buffet..which we all enjoyed. the seating for the fantasmic show is all down the right hand side (as you are facing the stage) the earlier you arrive the best choice of seats you can get... you can sit at the very front (of the right hand side) but be warned you will get wet...so maybe take poncho`s we sat about half way up and had a very good view ...
hope this helps..enjoy your trip

If you don't mind sitting there for an hour, I don't think you'll have to do the package to get a good seat.

The package seats are on the right side. Do not sit near the fronnt. You'll get wet.

We always do the package cause DH doesn't like waiting long but this past Oct 1 (a Saturday) when I went without DH we tried the show without the package. We got there an hour early and had wonderful seat right in the middle. Unfortunately, it was also the first time we got rained out! :(

We like eating at H&V with kids because its a buffet and it's the cheapest but we did try MM this past November trip but my kids weren't crazy about it and neither was my DH. So we'll be going back to H&V this year.

Have fun planning.

Thank you both so much for the information! I had no idea you got wet on the front :scared1: !! That would not do for my Mother at all!! LOL It does sound like Hollywood and Vine is a good choice to eat though, so maybe we will eat there and then not sit in the special section. It sounds like it would be best to just get there early and head for the center...

Thank you so much!! I knew some nice DISers would be able to help! :flower3:

Now, off for more dining plans!

We had a great meal at Hollywood & Vine! I would book the Fantasmic Package for February, because it is school vacation time for many states! It will be worth it! Have fun! :earsboy:
