I just checked our dates for our trip in Jan. and Fantasmic is not on the schedule anymore! I sure hope it is a mistake. We missed out on it on our last DL trip cause the Columbia was being refurbished. Oh I would be so sad if I couldn't see this.

My best guess is that they are starting to do the conversion of Tom Sawyer Island to incorporate a pirate theme. This might very well affect Fantasmic. See Al Lutz's recent articles here:

"Tom, Huck & Jack" www.miceage.com/allutz/al112806a.htm

"Goodbye Sawyer, Hello Sparrow" www.miceage.com/allutz/al100306a.htm

While disappointing to you and others, if they do close Fantasmic it will be another example of "HydroGuy's High Season/Off Season Tradeoff Rule" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199852

OMG you are right! Its not on my days now. I can't believe it - Fantasmic is now closed, along with Splash (our FAVE), small world (2nd fave), Go-coaster(DD's fave), and orange stinger (one of her faves as well). That really sucks. Fantasmic is a total highlight for me and something I was looking forward to a LOT! I mean, this wont ruin the trip or anything for me - but its disappointing to literally have 5 of our favourite things closed when we go. That really stinks.

I just checked and it is playing every night the 2nd week of January. I've noticed this week quite a few changes to the calander for the week I am going and two more Fantasmic shows have been added along with a few other shows. Hopefully it will be added for your dates as well when it gets closer.

Well it was on my dates last week - it has been removed :(

I think you are right because it is off the Feb, Presidents Day weekend calendar too.

At least I found out before Christmas, we were going to get my parents Fantasmic tickets as a Christmas present. Since they wouldn't be on sale until Jan I was just planning on giving a certificate. Now I can plan something else.

The DL calendar goes up through March looks like it's down through mid march according to that at least.

My boyfriend will be happy it's down for our trip in January. He doesn't really like it.

I can take it and leave it as well not all that impressed if the seating was more like WDW I might enjoy it more.

FYI as of Sunday the 10th of Dec.. The Orange Stinger was up and running..

Good bye to the last original piece Designed by our Beloved Walt.

Assuming you mean TSI, I can't say I will miss it. It was way past its prime and had been reduced from its original form by the lawyers trying to avoid frivolous lawsuits. It was hard to get to, and not worth the wait.

Further, Walt himself was the one who said that Disneyland would never be finished. He thought a DL frozen in time would be a bad idea. So let's not get hung up on things Walt designed originally. No one really knows how he would respond to this TSI change, but I have to believe he would be leading the way.

yea, maybe... a lot of us bet that Walt would be very disappointed with DCA...

But where do ppl find out that Fantasmic will go be in construction mode? Its not even in my reburb list...

It's on the DL calendar starting in mid January no show times are listed and then toward the end of February they have it under the refurb section through mid march.
