Fantasmic questions

I have read on this board that the 2nd show is less crowded. We will be there on Dec. 16th and they list 2 shows, 6:00 & 7:30 p.m. However, park hours list park closing at 7:00 p.m.

Can anyone tell me "Is there indeed a show at 7:30, even if park closes at 7:00?" And, "Is the 2nd show generally less crowded?"

Also, last time we were there the general opinion from our whole family was that Fantasmic was NOT overly impressive. We just aren't sure if maybe we missed something or if other Disney vets feel the same way. We would hate to spend time here if we could be doing so many other things!

Don't get me wrong, FAntasmic was OK, but our time is limited. Is it really worth it?

Thanks in advance for your answers.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Personally, I love Fantasmic! But I do know that many people feel as if they have to get in line, wait a long time and... well, some wind up not overly impressed. Not me, however!

That said, if your family has seen it, and they generally walked away unimpressed, I'm not sure why they would want to do it again. Maybe I'm missing something. Are there other family members who haven't seen it? If so, it might be worth splitting up... those who want to see it can go to the show, the others can do something else with everyone meeting up somewhere afterwards (although I'd suggest meeting far from the entrance to Fantasmic, since the huge crowd pouring our of the theater makes it darn tough to locate a family member who's waiting at the bottom of the hill!).

As for the two shows, I'd definitely say the second is less crowded, although the closer you get to the holidays, the less meaningful "less crowded" becomes as the parks get - and often stay - pretty jam-packed. And don't forget that everyone else out there is listening to and making decisions based on the same tips you are. In other words, there's a whole lot of people saying, "Hey, the second show is less crowded. Let's wait." Of course, a lot of folks with kids hit the earlier shows/parades, which is largely where the lessening of the crowds comes from.

In summation, I never miss Fantasmic. But if it didn't wow your crowd, I'd say skip it and do things they might enjoy more!

That's my two cents, anyway!

Richard
