Go to the 2nd show.
The 1st shows always fill up fast and run out of seats so people are left standing.
The 2nd ones are usually pretty empty with PLEANTY of seats left open!

Then while all the people are watching Fantasmic, you can get on the rides faster

Well I must say that was THE BEST piece of Fantasmic info I have come across!! Thank-you for taking the time and typing out all those gems of info I have been searching for! By searching I mean, devouring every 800-900 page guide book available as well as WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY too many hours checking out the boards! I just could not find concrete timing on when exactly to get there!
Is it realistic to bring food from say ABC commisary or backlot express, or is that too far to walk with "supper"? Not sure if names are correct all this new info I have crammed in my brain, trying to make our "once in a life time trip to WDW" perfect I may have some names wrong...

Backlot is quite a distance. ABC is closer but still a bit of a walk.
I dont know if you have ever seen Fantasmic before, but where the sign is to enter to go see Fantasmic, even from there is a bit of a walk to get up to where the seats are lol.
On Sunset BLVD (where Fantasmic is located) there are places to get food.
Catalina Eddie's has pizza, sandwhiches and chicken salad.
And Rosie's All American Cafe has burgers, chicken strips and soup.
They are both counter service like Backlot and ABC and much closer.

Then up at Fantasmic they sell hot dogs, nachos with cheese sauce, popcorn and cotton candy.

I prefer the second show simply b/c with the park open till 10 that means you can ride the rides during the first showing, the lines are considerably lower at that time. Then you can stroll in for the 10:30 show which has never been full for us. The last time we were able to sit right up front, very nice b/c it was hot out and the cool mist of water was nice.
