i will be there in 13 days and would like to see fantasmic. I didn't do a dining package. Will I need to go right to the fp booth or can I do a ride or two first? How long until they will let you into the fp section? I figured we would go somewhat early so we could eat dinner on a blanket while we wait. Fantasmic has been closed our last 3 trips and I know it's in demand now.

We did a dinner package so I didn't need FP but reports I've seen say that they seem to be gone fairly early so I would make that your first stop if Fantasmic! is a must do for you. I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm incorrect on this though! Have a great trip!

Recent reports have stated that F! FPs are gone within the first few hours after park opening. And since F! is now on low season schedule (weekends only: Fri., Sat., Sun.), demand has been somewhat greater. I would get the FPs first just for the peace of mind.

When we went in August we showed up between 7:00 and 7:15 to wait to be let into the fp section for the first show. They let us into the Mark Twain "holding" area around 7:40, but they didn't let us into the fp viewing area until 8:00. Meanwhile we were all crammed together like sardines. We were early and lucky enough to get in the seated viewing area, but there is only a very small seated viewing area for people with a regular fp. Most of the regular fp viewing is standing. And I must say you are seated very close to the other guests! They really pack the seated area in...they want to get as many guests in that small area as possible. With good reason...everyone would sooner sit than stand for the whole show, plus the 1 1/2 hour wait for the show to begin.

Hope this helps for your planning.

You will not be able to eat dinner on a blanket. You will be packed in very tight, and more than likely you will be standing.

I would say you could do at least one ride before grabbing FPs, but I wouldn't push it longer than that now that the demand is so great with it only on weekends.

The days of finding a place and putting a blanket down for the show is a thing of the past.

Fantasmic! is pretty structured for assigned locations now.

You might want to review a few of the other Fantasmic! threads.
This way you'll at least have an idea of what to expect. From what I've read the lineup for the show is totally different now.

Hmm I guess I will start looking at other posts. I am hoping we can figure out a good way to watch the show without waiting for hours. My boys would not do too well.

Are you open to doing a package? We'll be there in 2 weeks as well and I noticed there are still Hungry Bear grab and go reservations available. It's a bit cheaper than the others and you still get seated in a reserved section.

I actually just made one. Still have to talk to my group but I am hoping everyone will agree to do it.
