Hello everyone,am going to be at Disney during the last week of this month and was wondering how necessary it may be to get one of those dining ressies so it ensured us of a good seat for Fantasmic.I felt that since its Oct we may not need it???? Thanks for any help ???? Nancy

The last week of October will be quite busy at WDW, since it includes Halloween and the Food & Wine Festival. Most (if not all) of the DVC resorts are sold out for that time period.

We've done Fantasmic! with the dining package and without. As long as you don't mind staking out your seat and waiting for about an hour you should be fine without the package. If you'd rather have the ability to get there somewhat last-minute and wouldn't mind dining in one of the HS restaurants anyway then I'd go with the package.

Just and FYI...the reserved seating section for the dinner package is the far right section of the ampitheater as you face the "stage". The view from this location is just as good as from the center, but if you'd rather be in the middle you shouldn't bother with the package.

we did the fantasmic dinner package on 10/8 and I think it is a rip off. They tell you to arrive 45-90 minutes early even with the pass. We arrived 45 minutes early and the amphitheater was practically empty. I am sure in the busy months this is not true, but it was for us. Dinner at the Brown Derby was good, but at $47.99 per person, it was way overpriced. Plus we couldn't use our tables in wonderland discount card. Very dissappointed.

We always do it without the Dinner Package but we do arrive 60 min. prior and get seats right up front. I always think our seats are better than the package - eventhough we do get a little wet.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Most of the time we just grab burgers and bring it in with us to eat. We usually don't mind waiting because HS/AK day is a busy one for us.

This kind of question gets asked a lot on the theme park boards, and here is a good catch all answer with lots of info.

We do the package, but it's mostly a safety net. We do DDP, so there is no point in not doing it. It gives us the option of taking the reserved seating at the very least.

We just got back & they had 2 performances of Fantasmic on Oct. 13th. We attended the first show about 40 mins prior & the theater was half empty. Many people tend to congregate in the middle, but the whole left side of the theater was wide open & we went right to the front just left of the center. I heard a few guests say, "Don't go too far left because it takes too long to get out of here", but really the theater clears out fairly quickly & we exited in no time. We did the dinner package a few times, but we always ended up near the far right & way back & they kept yelling for everyone to squeeze in.

Since this is not specifically DVC related, and it's still getting responses, and since there is a link to the Theme Parks board about this very topic, I am closing this thread.

Appropriate topics are covered in the sticky posts at the top of all the DVC boards.

Thanks for understanding.
