We will be in the World from September 23 til the 30th. My question is... will we need the Fantasmic Dinner package or will we make out OK without it? We did not get to see this show when we went in 2004 so we are looking forward to it this time and don't wanna miss out on seats.

Thanks for your help! :thumbsup2

you should be fine without, just get there 30-45 minutes before the show and you should be fine, especially in sept.

I don't know if there will be a 9:00 and a 10:30 show when you get there, but if there is, then take advantage of the 10:30 show. We did this earlier this month and it was so much nicer with hardly a crowd. On our way out of MGM, we practically had the whole park to ourselves.

We've been 3 times, once in July, once in March (Easter), and once in August and we have never used the dinner package. In March, it was Spring Break and Easter when we went so they had 3 shows a night. We usually grab food from the CS across the way about an hour before show time, go in eat our meal and sit right front and center. Have fun, we love Fantasmic!

According to the schedule posted here, the 10:30 show is only on weekends. Did they have yours on a weekday, or is it always a weekends-only thing?

We used the dinner package last time and liked not having to wait in line for Fantasmic. We are doing the same this year and are going the same week as you. I scheduled our Fantasmic dinner package at 4pm on our last night since F&W/EMH will be going on at Epcot and and MK will be closed for MNNSHP. Hope it was a good choice! Do you have free dining? If so, schedule the dinner package. You've gotta eat anyway...might as well avoid the line.

We went on a Saturday.

We've done both--the Fantasmic dinner package and the go in really early to get your seat. We prefer the dinner package because it's so nice not having to go in, find a seat and wait an hour for the show to start. It was much more relaxing for us. The only negative is if it rains and they cancel Fantasmic, you don't get to come to the show the next night. Can't control the weather, right?

What do you mean by "wait in line?"

I have never encounteded a "line" for Fantasmic! (unless you arrive early for the SECOND show of the evening, if there is one.)

We just got back from our 1st trip and we didn't do a dinner package for Fantasmic. I was admittingly a little worried...but we got there about 55 minutes before the show...got seats and then took turns riding TOT while we waited. My 3 y.o. didn't go on TOT so my dh and I took turns taking my 7 y.o. on it while the one left behind saved the seats. They even let us in the back way when we returned from TOT to go back to our seat....when you leave the area they give you a little FP type card and a CM in TOT shows you how to go back to the arena athe back way. We also grabbed some cotton candy for the 3 y.o. to eat whie she waited for the show to begin...it worked out GREAT for us! :thumbsup2

Sorry....I meant avoid the wait.

The dinner package is a great deal even if you do not see fantasmic!!! unless you have the dinning plan..... :lmao:
the crowds are very smll in September and you will have NO problem seeing the show or going on anything else I go around that time almost every year :thumbsup2
this year I am going in early December though!!! hope it is similiar to September....
Baby due in early July so I had to go to Disney later in the year :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I am going that exact week. I don't think it will be crowded enough to need reserved seats. We are not doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package. We'll be at Mama Melrose on September 25th at 6pm if you would like to join us. :lmao:

We wanted to eat at Mama Melrose, and the Dinner Package requires you to order off a special menu. No thanks.

We did mama's also and it rained that night and we were out of luck. I sometimes like going early and hearing the dance remix music they play. We have brought some small snacks and handheld games also. That time of year, I would save the money for something else at the world to spend it on. Have fun whatever you do. :thumbsup2

I am also going to be there the same week as you in September. I ALWAYS do the Fantasmic Dinner Package because it's free! The less time to wait in line and more time to spend in the parks. I wasn't able to get Mama Melrose's becuase it was fully booked (hope that isn't a sign that the park will be crowded due to free dining package) so I booked Hollywood & Vine.

my experience is a little isolated im sure buuuut...

My bf and I were very far along on a HUGE line-well no really a sea of people it was more like(!)-and I was alittle upset because I thought we wouldn't get to see very well... well as the stadium filled up, a lot of people sat in the back! and we got in the VERY front row and had room on either side of us. It wasn't a slow night either... luck I suppose. So in my opinion no, youll be fine either way. you could have come in the middle of the show and sat in the front that day... and really there were a lot of people from what it looked like. But I dont know if I was just very lucky. It was amazing! It was the first time I ever saw the show and I got fantastic pictures  !!!
