hello there:tinker:
so I'm trying to decide on which night and which showing of the Fantasmic I should reserve the dessert buffet for. I've got to choose from the opening night of friday june 15th 900 or 1030, or sat 900 or 1030. I know normally you say choose the first showing, but it's the opening night so the variables might be different as well as nemo opening days before... and also the saturday is our final night and what would be better to do on our final night?
Once again I await the dis wisdom:cat:

Are you going to try to watch the fireworks either of those nights? If not, then I would try for the 10:30 show on Friday night. If Sat is your last day it would be a nice "going home present" to your family, but if you have to leave early the next day, that might not be fun.

Each time has + and - , but I'll vote for the 10:30 showing. Although I haven't done the buffet (and won't get to this time either since they moved the opening date:sad1: Either way have a great time and eat some chocolate for me!

thanks mikayla:thumbsup2 ,we actually don't have to leave that early and we don't have any kids so we can stay up:) is it still on the friday or did they move that time?

I would personally do the early showing because my absolute favorite times to ride the rides is between 10-midnight!! We can get on tons of rides in just those two hours so I wouldn't want to waste that time doing F! Instead I would do it earlier and since you are doing the balcony, crowds won't matter to you!!

Andrea

We pick the early show because they let you stay on the balcony and watch the fireworks after Fantasmic! A little added bonus so we go on Friday and then plan to do the "real" fireworks close up on Sat! you can not see them all that well from the balcony but it is just nice to stay and linger esp. since my son figured out you are paying something like $8 per second-lol-every second you can linger up there counts.

Don't forget since you are staying at the DLH, let Vacation Planning make your reservations! If you try to do it on your own and are lucky enough to get in, you will almost certainly end up in the 2nd(back) row but Vacation Planning will almost always get you front row! Call them NOW and give them your credit card so you will be at the top of their calling list.

Oh, I am so happy you are doing this! You will love it!

thanks fidoprincess:goodvibes ,called today but they were closed already. will be calling first thing tomorrow morning:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

my man called and they wouldn't let him do it that way, they said phone back for the 60 day window.

interesting...took 3 different times calling and emailing before someone said yeah we can book that for ya..but now it's booked...If we are not in the front will we be able to see or should I just change it to the lower seating just in case?:confused3

When are you going? If it is more than 30 days away, there is no way they have already booked it so I am confused. If 30 days away and VP took your credit card and all your info, chances are you will end up in the front row. If there is a party of 10 or more ahead of you in line with VP, you might not get it but we have seen them put the big parties all together on one side too so there is just no way of knowing. Some people have been told their #, others have been told there is no way to know!

There are only 22 seats on the balcony so about 10/11 up front and 10/11 in the back. It is kind of "funky" seating to say the least and they move the chairs around each time depending on the groups. The chairs are like the ones at Carnation cafe, the little metal curved back ones with the cushiony seats. They have these tiny tiny tables too so they make it try and look like "conversational seating areas." You will be able to see fantasmic from the 2nd row easily. The difference is that you can not see over and down the balcony to watch the people and if there are small kids, they will most likely not be able to see over the adults in front of them. You can stand though since there is no one behind the second row and it is easier to get up and get the desserts. There is one really bad seat behind the pole on the right side facing out so if they try to put you there, object! They will just move the chairs over a bit more-lol.

I would not switch to Riverside! Others like it because you can feel the water mist and the heat but really, there just is nothing like the balcony at least for the first time! Enjoy!

Oops, I forgot to say the most important thing in my opinion. You are not paying all that money for a few desserts or the great view really, You are paying for the privilege of not WAITING! You don't have to get there too early, they don't seat too far ahead of time and you just wait in the little courtyard next to the gallery or walk around the gallery and look at the art work. People start staking out spots so so early for fantasmic that it is not unheard of to see them lining up hours ahead of time! Keep that in mind the whole time and you will not be disappointed! The riverside seating does make you wait because you have to check in and then they seat in the order of check in instead of when you make your reservation. The balcony is one of the few things in DL that you do not have to wait for and that makes is so so good-lol!

We are going Friday June 15th. When my man called they said if there isn't any balcony available would you like another day and he said no but we'd do the riverside,as I really wanted to see the fireworks on the last night(sat) which is the only other night fantasmic is available. But then when she said there was only 21 seats I thought woah maybe a bunch of other people have called already and we are farther down the list of who called first. She also said once she takes the info then she calls a month before and makes the ps in order of who has called her first. Then she calls us and tell us what we got. Should I call and say maybe try sat night too just in case?
