I'm looking for a restaurant for dinner at MGM for me and my DH - we are on the DDP and want to use 1 TS. Here are the choices... having trouble picking one:

H&V with Fantasmic pkg
MM with Fantasmic pkg
Sci-Fi
50's prime time

Or anything others you think??Thanks!

We chose to do MM without the FDP. We've done the FDP with MM and H&V. H&V didn't impress us much. We only went there because MM was booked. After doing without the FDP in November, we realized we can do the same thing for this upcoming trip. We usually do Sci-Fi for lunch because it's cheaper and we'll get burgers and shakes. 50's PT we like a lot, but we're getting tired of it, so we're skipping it this trip. HTH! :)

The package aspect, for me anyway, depends on what time of year you are going. I've done it many times due to fear of a line but we finally tried going without it twice now and I don't think I'll do the package again unless I go during a busy/peak season time. We had great seats both times, entering the park at about 45 minutes to an hour before and we were able to eat at Sci-fi and 50's Prime time.

Anyway, if you are going off season (Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec - times that I've been) I would go without the package and so then I'd pick the place I'd enjoy the most. For us that would probably be in the following order:

1. 50's Prime Time for the food and atmosphere
2. Sci Fi for the atmosphere
3. MM for the food
4. H&V for the low cost and variety of food

Good luck deciding!

We're going the second week of May - i'm wondering if the package is worth it. I heard crowds are not too bad that time?

We did the FDP at MM last week. My boys, 6 and 4, said it was their favorite meal. I really enjoyed my meal, DH said his was OK. We also had a character lunch at H&V. We thought the food/buffet was good, we were pleasantly surprised.

May is a great time to go! We did the FDP last May and they say to get there by 8:30 the latest. We saw others without the FDP still being seated without having FDP. We're skipping it for this May trip and eating where we want.
