Fantasmic pick seat time

That's a good question. A couple days ago somebody reported that DL reservations is now saying that the "official" time to choose your F! seats is at 8 p.m. instead of 7 like it used to be. But then somebody came back and had just seen it, and check in was still 7 p.m. Either the CMs haven't heard about the change yet or DL reservations has it wrong.

When we went in March, spring break, people started lining up about 6:25 by the churro cart across from Haunted Mansion. It's by the corner of the roped off area for F!. They pulled out the podium but they didn't start taking reservations till 7 p.m. on the dot.

Hope we find out soon what the real deal is.

Call Disney reservations and ask: (714) 781-3463

If they say 8, I would still lurk around there at 6:30-7 p.m. or so and ask a CM who's setting up for F!

I know you can pick up your tickets the day of the show at guest services outside the front gate. You have to pick them up by 5 p.m., I believe.

You can pick up the tickets even a few days before...

THEN... you have to "check in" the day of, at a certain time (which is now in question) in order to be assigned a seat, the earlier you get to check in, the better the seats you have.

I had my travel agent call Disney to confirm the check-in time since I also have F! tickets. Apparently the new 8 p.m. time has now been officially communicated. Wouldn't hurt to double-check the time again when you pick up your tickets but having to line up twice seems to defeat one of main perks for F! tickets.

We were there for the 9pm show on the 31st. We were there early just in case (6pm) We weren't sure id we needed to be there by 7 or 8. Some others showed up and they had a show up time of 7 and others 8. The CM came with the podium at 7pm. He then told us that he could not take any names until 8pm. Even though some people had a 7pm check in and some a 8pm check in. So needless to say we waited another hour. In the long run it was worth it for the seats---they were incredible. But it was bad communication on their part. The people who were behind us called and complained and were given some fast passes for the next day. We went to city hall that night and they gave us some fast passes as well that we could use on any ride. That worked out great for us the next day :)
So.........The new official check in time is 8pm......But if you want the first seats the time you arrive is up to you :)

Thanks for the update, mo3bys!

Can any others who have experienced the Fantasmic VIP seating quite recently verify whether mo2bys's experience was the same as yours? Or, has anyone else still been able to check in at 7pm (within the last week or so)? (We'll be there soon, so I'd love a few more reports, if possible!)

Thanks, again, mo3bys! :) :goodvibes :)

on may 30 the podium was there and seats were picked at 7pm looks like a change since then.

Yes, the new time is 8pm, but they let us check in at 7pm this Saturday b/c there are still people who bought their tickets before the time changed who don't know about the new time (like us!). This is a grace period, and then they'll be officially checking in at 8.

I was livid when I picked up our tickets that afternoon and discovered the new time on the ticket, because I'd made 7:30 Blue Bayou reservations and now had half an hour to eat!

We ended up having to wait for a walk-up reservation at 5:30 b/c they were booked (naturally), and then I went to stand in line for Fantasmic check in at 6:30 because I am a nerd. Well I'm glad I did, b/c at 6:50 they wheeled out the podium and I was first in line!

Frankly, I won't do the dessert buffet again if check-in for the 9pm show is at 8pm. You know people will start lining up at 7 or 7:15 the way they used to line up at 6 or 6:15, and then when you check in at 8, it's only a few minutes before the suggested return time of 8:20. So basically you end up waiting as long as you would have to get a free seat for Fantasmic! (the desserts were all bland and straight from the refrigerator - not worth $60 to me!).

Sorry - guess I shoulda been typing this in a letter to the resort, not to you guys! :cutie:

I am glad they let you check in at 7 ----We were there on the 31st and they showed up with the podium at 7pm....But the refused to sign any of us in.......we had to wait another hour......there were three groups of us by then and we even talked to the manager and he even refused to sign any of us in......The people behind us even had an itinerary from the Grand stating they needed to be at check in at 7pm and they still wouldn't check us in. We were all upset about it. I agree we could have waited like every one else down in front for all the time we waited for our reserved seating :)

Very MIFFED...

We are paying an OUTRAGOUS amount of money, we should NOT have to then WAIT in line...

I am sorry but they need to do what they did for balcony seating and seat everyone in the order that they CALLED... This having to wait around to check in, riduculous, and no where near a premium service, that the price suggests.
