We will be down in April and I'm concerned about leaving DHS after Fantasmic. We don't intend to stay for the Star Wars Fireworks and would like to exit the park as quickly as possible following Fantasmic. Is there a way to get back to the main entrance from Fantasmic without walking all the way down Sunset towards the stage and then all the way back down Hollywood Blvd to the front exit? I'm concerned with the huge crowds blocking the way, plus a stroller and two tired kids making this journey a disaster. Any thoughts? Thanks!

First, you want to go all the way to "audience RIGHT" (stage LEFT) at the top of the theater and use that pathway to exit the theater.
Then...
It all depends on IF they have the "front exit" from that Fantasmic! pathway open.
That way exits out near Oscar's Service Station. (No Sunset Blvd. involved.)

If that route is not open, there's no other way to avoid the Sunset Blvd. walk.

Exactly. And even during traditionally low crowd times, they've had that route open.

Thank you! Ok, now how would I exit the stadium at that point? Is there a special path within the seating area or should I walk completely out of the attraction?

I was at F! 3 different nights in late Jan./early Feb. this year.
That "front" route was open only one of the three nights I was there.

After F!, you want to go all the way to "audience RIGHT" (stage LEFT) at the top of the theater seating and use that pathway to exit the theater. (I've labelled it #11 on the map below.)

Last time we went it was when they had the Frozen fireworks show at the height of Frozen-mania... We booked it to the entrance via sunset after Fantasmic, and it wasn't too bad until we got to the hat. That whole area was a madhouse. We just locked hands and formed a chain, and prayed we'd all make it out alive. One positive though, once we got to the buses we got on right away and pretty much had the bus to ourselves. Score!

Thank you Robo!!!!! I owe you a Mickey Ice Cream Bar! Find me in April!

I have not seen Fantasmic since 2000. It was a nightmare leaving. Is it pretty much the same these days? Hard to find strollers and keep together?

Yup.
Many with experience will sit and wait for the crowds to thin before exiting.

Waiting for F! right now. If we use this exit, has there been room lately on Hollywood Blvd to stand and see the fireworks? Seems like the crowds would prevent it. No?

Yes, you can find a spot.

Just know that you just MIGHT be exiting onto Sunset Blvd.
They don't always have the "front" doors open at the bottom of the path.

You can make your way through shops and head to the Prime Time Echo Lake area. You can sit on a planter ledge there.

If you wait a couple of minutes after Fant ends, walk across the front of the amphitheater to the exit described by Robo.

Yup. We couldn't find our stroller. We finally made it out of the walkway and sat down, while my DH and his stepfather had to trek all the way back to find our stroller. The good news is, because it took them so long, there was hardly any crowd left to walk through when we finally left.

Did you go to fireworks afterward?

I saw you post this tip on the HS Star Wars thread, and it was a HUGE help for us. We were sitting in Maleficent, so not even all the way to the far side, and I can't imagine how long it would have taken us to get out going across the top of the theater. But, we went down and across the front instead, and made it out in around 5 minutes or so. Managed to get a great spot for the fireworks two times Thanks for the tip!

Can you recommend a spot for the fireworks?
