I voted for H&V based on a few things :
1 - ease for getting in and out with 16 people
2 - price for 16 people! yikes! H&V is the cheapest
3 - more options to please more people, MM and BD have specific menus for the fantasmic package, so you would have only a few options for everyone to choose from, H&V is a buffet so has more options

I picked the Brown Derby. I haven't eaten at Mama Melrose. Hollywood and Vine's food is not edible.

I picked H&V because with 16 people, regular table service will probably take forever. At least at a buffet, you have more control over how long the meal takes.

Exactly the reason I also voted for H&V. There will also be a large variety of food for everyone to choose from. I can imagine picking a restaurant for 16 people would be rather complicated with everyone's different interests.

Just got back last nigiht ate at Mama Melrose terrific dinner, also ate at the
Brown Derby, very pricey... if on dining plan its 2 table services.

The input is helping. My family ate at MM last year(7 of us) and loved it, but with 16 people, not sure how the service would be. I have heard mixed things about the food at H&V, so that was my dilemma. We probably won't do the Brown Derby do to price and there will 4 children with us.

13 of us did the Fantasmic Package at Hollywood & Vine in July and everyone loved it! some people just dont like buffets but we found this one to be quite good and they had great desserts and a wide variety!

I would go with the H&V. Just because a buffet would give you a choice of food for everyone in your group.

OP...if you plan on going during a slower time a year you might consider skipping this dinner/sho plan. H&V is more oriented toward groups since it is a buffet, but we were very disappointed in H&V from service, quality and cleaniness. The area reserved in the stadiumn in our opinion are not prime seating area too. On the other hand I would recommend the dining/show plan if you are attending when crowds are heavy to ensure you get a seat.

We are going as a party of 18 in January and we couldn't get in to Mama Melrose's so it is H & V for us. It is probably better option with so many different tastes involved.

It will be christmas week, so the package is the best way to go. It seems as though H&V is ahead a little, but with the mixed reviews, I can't decide.

Just remember all the food opinions are just that - opinions. The first time we ate at H&V we thought it was the worst restaurant ever. But everytime since then, it has been excellent. And Mama Melrose was sooo blah. That's just opinions and personal taste. The fact is, H&V will offer more options, be quicker, easier to get into and order, be cheaper, etc.

ITA! I LOVE the food at H&V. My two children are very picky eaters and they served themselves from the kids buffet and tried most of the things I had on my plate. They are 3 and 4 and my DS (3) does NOT like to eat anywhere. He flat out tells the servers when they come over "I don't want A-NY-THING. NOTHING". So for him to ask to serve himself AND eat it AND eat some of mine, well, I wish they had H&V near my house LOL. That may be the biggest part of it for me, though I really do like the food too, so does my husband. I tried Mama Melrose and I liked whatever my husband ordered (can't remember) but couldn't eat my food. The kids didn't like what they ordered either. It could have been bad choices on our part but we didn't like it. The variety at H&V gives them my vote too.

I know that H & V has received poor reviews, but this was my kids' favorite restaraunt. We also ate and Ohana & Cinderella's castle. I think the buffet is the easiest/fastest way to feed 16 people. Not only that, but everyone is sure to find things to eat that they enjoy.
