Fantasmic Package times for Brown Derby?

Are the Fantasmic Package times for Brown Derby generally earlier than H&V because a meal at Brown Derby would take longer?

7 of us are going in Dec., 5 at H&V, 2 at Brown Derby.

We have a 5 pm at H&V, but the only time the TA could get at Brown Derby is 4 pm. She even asked about other table sizes.

She called at our 180+10 day, which would be 3 days before the 180 day for that specific ADR - could that make a difference?

The 2 that are eating at Brown Derby normally eat around 8 CST, so 4 is very early for them.

Brown Derby always seems to start out with only VERY early reservation times, but you can book what they're offering and call again, closer to your vacation time and usually can get a more acceptable time. We had done that 2 years ago - DD and the kids preferred a buffet and DH and I let's just say do not! They booked 6:00 at H&V and we booked 4:30 at Brown Derby but called a couple of weeks later and got 5:45. That worked much better for meeting after dinner and getting to Fantasmic at a comfortable time.

They same thing happened to us when we booked FDP at MM. The first time I got was 3:50, but then we wound up changing weeks. So I resceduled for a different day and got 4:10. I am going to try as it get closer to get a later time.

We had a 5:30 ADR in May. It took about an hour to eat. The food was great. I'd try later for a later time. I think more time slots are released at the 60 and 30 day mark.

We just called today and got Brown Derby at 4:10-which I didn't think was too bad after having read about 3:30 times. What is the latest you think you can comfortably eat there and make the 7:00 Fantasmic?

Also in December-I'm assuming the Osbourne lights go on at twilight-maybe 5ish? So it might be possible to eat at 4:10 and do lights before Fantasmic?

When do they open the later dinner times?
