Fantasmic package in January?

I wasn't sure if I should post this question on the restaurant board or this one. We are travelling to DW the second week of January and I am just wondering if during this time it will be necessary to book the fantasmic package. Will we be able to just get right in to the show since this is a less crowded time anyway, or are the shows still busy? I have only been to the Hollywood Brown Derby and liked that very much; however, I don't think my 4 year old ds will do well there. Any suggestions for restaurants in MGM that might appeal to him. I was considering Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose. Any thoughts?

If your going in Jan anytime after the first week I doubt you will need the Fantasmic dinner package. Everyone has gone back to school and the crowds should be very low.
