fantasmic package in january

I wasn't sure if I should post this question on the restaurant board or this one. We are travelling to DW the second week of January and I am just wondering if during this time it will be necessary to book the fantasmic package. Will we be able to just get right in to the show since this is a less crowded time anyway, or are the shows still busy?

I have to tell you.........I dont think the package is all it's cracked up to be.

When we went July 2, we did the package to garauntee a spot. When we got there, we simply went in a different entrance. There was no "true" reserved area. All they did was save the top couple rows near the end and we were put up there. In fact, most everyone who came in with the package didn't sit in the package seating area and found their own better area.

Just my opinion.

I dont think it will be so busy that you will HAVE to rely on it.

Also, Im sure the package is nice if Fantasmic! fills up to capacity by the time you go to your seat, then they'll save you a seat. However it WAS SO CROWDED July 2 and still we were fine. They make you show up early, even with the package, so there's always seating available. They made us show up AT LEAST 30 minutes early.

Do it yourself and save money. You can eat at the same place and if you are willing to sit and wait you can get a better seat for the show on your own. The reserved seats are only so-so.

This is true. The problem you also have with Fatasmic Dinner package is you can only choose between certain menu items since you are required to spend a certain amount of money.

It will be cheaper, and you can eat what you like, at the same restaraunt if you do without the package.

We have always visited last week in january or first week in february. At that time Fantasmic still packs them in. People start showing up at least an hour early to get the best seats which are in the center sections(45min should get you a good seat). The seats then fillup from center to the outside ends. With the dinner packages, they reserve the last section on the right as you face the stage. If you just want a seat fine, but they are definitly not the best( you will have a pole in your line of view too). The only good thing is that you are a little closer to the exit if you want to make a run to catch illuminations. I did it once but felt it wasnt anything special and that I would rather bring in some to go dinner and eat in the center section to kill 45 minutes.It also depends on how many seats you need.

As long as you dont go Jan 1-3 or during the MLK holiday, you shouldn't need it.
