Fantasmic Package - Gone?

Forgive me for not paying attention, but did I read correctly on another thread that DHS no longer offers the Fantasmik Dining Package?

I haven't seen any discussion that the dinner package has been canceled...there was some talk that the people with the Fantasmic dinner package were no longer being allowed in the "back way"...they had to go in the main entrance with everyone else. Someone posted that there was sounds of construction going on from the area where the back walk-way is, so it could be a temporary change while construction is going on.

I hope you're right and that it is just temporary. What is the purpose of the package if you do not get to use the "back way" entrance? I liked being able to show up just 1/2 hour before showtime and have a decent seat rather get herded in like cattle an 1 - 1 1/2 hours prior to the show. But - like you said - maybe it is just temporary. Thanks again. Has anyone else heard anything on this?

I am going to move this to the main restaurant board, since it has more to do with the package in general.

As for confirmation whether this will be a forever change or a temporary change - nobody seems to know for sure right now.

hmmm.. I have a Fantasmic dinner package booked for Feb. I would assume they are still doing it since they are booking them. If they have canceled it I would sure like to know. I jsut assume eat at Sci-Fi than Hollywood and Vine lol.

We just received word confirming what we already knew. The entrance for the Fantasmic Dining Package is the main podium on Hollywood Blvd, and you need to check in 30 minutes prior to the show.

No official word if this is permanent or temporary.

Yes, and it appears that it's the same section (Stage Left)

DH and I did this on our recent trip...you enter the same way as everyone else (through the main entrance) but when you get to the top of the hill, there's ropes set up to move people to the center/left and other people to the right - you show your ticket from the dining plan and they shuffle you right. So you still get the reserved seating the same as you did before, but now you just enter the same way as everyone else.

One weird thing for us was that our waitress told us to be there an hour and a half to 45 minutes early...I thought it was weird because the whole point is to not have to get there that soon! (I know you have to be there 30 minutes before - but 90??) We got there about 45 minutes early and had great seats, but it was October and not a crowded night at the park.
