Fantasmic Package during the holiday season?

I know they suspended the Fantasmic dinner package during the Easter break season. Did they also suspend last year during the holiday season - Christmas and New Year's?

I'm beginning to build an itinerary for 12/29 through 1/3 and was looking at doing Fantasmic on New Year's day. We'd love to do the package, but I'm not sure it will be available.

If anybody has any insight, I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks.

We will be there 21-27 Dec. and some friends of ours just returned yesterday from WDW, They did the FDP, Mama melroses and had a great time and great seats, they also said that the reservation request stated that no dinner packages would be offered from 22 Dec. -3 Jan. Bummer for us, but will keep trying CRO to confirm.

The Fantasmic Dinner Package was designed to get people to eat at restaurants that otherwise would not operate at capacity. That's why you seldom, if ever, see Sci-Fi or Prime Time as one of the choices. During peak seasons like Easter and Christmas, all of the restaurants are pretty much full at dinner time, so there is no need to offer the package. I would be very, very surprised if the package were offered during the upcoming holiday season.

That said, the good news is that there will probably be two Fantasmic shows every night. That later one is always less crowded than the earlier one.

Does anyone know if they have them Thanksgiving week?

We did the Fantasmic package last year during Thanksgiving week. We will be at WDW December 19-29. Looks like we need to plan on doing Fantasmic early if we want to do the package.
