I got a call the other day from Disney Dining saying that Fantasmic will be cancelled when I have my Fantasmic Dining package booked for January. Fantasmic will not be showing the last week in January due to rehab or something. I can keep my ADR at Mama Melrose if I want but Fantasmic will not take place that night. My question is....should I not worry about it? EMH is that night at MGM and my reservation is at 4pm. Should I see if they can make it a little later now? Or is there somewhere else we should try??? I have Sci-FI planned later in the week when my in-laws arrive and that is the only other place I can think would be fun for my 5 year old.

Any suggestions?

because of the selection.....your little one may like this restauarant. It is a noisey place ..very tin sounding.....but the food is pretty good for a buffet. Alot of selections for you all.

Unless something has changed, I'm pretty sure Mama Melrose is still a sit down meal.

Do you know the exact dates it will be shut down? We are going Jan 23-30 and I hope to at least see it one day.

We had our only really horrible WDW meal at Mama Melrose. It usually gets pretty bad reviews but I ignored them. Why not try 50's Prime Time or we are planning to do Spoodles this year which is on the Boardwalk area (boat ride from MGM) that should be fun for the kids.

Mama Melrose is fine, in my experience. Good food. I don't understand where all these negative reviews come from.

From what the message from Disney said, Fantasmic will be down for rehab from January 27 until February 2nd. I also vaguely remember trying to make ADRs for 50s PT and being told it wass going to be closed during my trip.
:confused3 :

I think I am going to stick with Mama Melrose because I am also going to have to change my Boma ADR due to the P&P party.:scared1: I can't be all out of order since my ADR's have been made for 180 days and I thought I had planned everything perfectly.

Well so much for trying to pre-plan.:rolleyes1

Wait a minute! I have the Fantasmic package (with Mama Melrose's) booked for 1/27 and have not received a call. I wonder what is going on! I guess I will be calling today!

50's Prime Time might be more fun for your 5-yr old, but if that's not available, Mama Melrose's is a good ADR to keep. We ate there earlier this month, and enjoyed it. And if you have picky eaters in the family, they can do a basic spaghetti with meat sauce bowl for you off menu. It was only $9.99, which I thought very reasonable (especially for Disney!).

Okay. . .I just called since my ressie is for 1/27.

The CM said that Fantasmic will be closed for refurbishment 1/28 - 1/31 (four days).

So I am still good for my 1/27 ressie.

Just wanted to give everyone a head's up so if you are there that week you can still go to Fantasmic.

didnt like mama melrose one bit..and they charged my ds extra for a 2nd glass of pink lemonade... i would try prime time or hollywood n vine.

I am sorry that I posted the way I did......I meant to say that the age of your child ......he may enjoy Hollywood and Vine better......it is an all you can eat buffet and plenty of selections for EVERYBODY......we try to go there when we have the family as they all like different things.......vegetarian, diets, kids, and elderly parents......
