When Fantasmic is early and only once (7:00 PM), can the Osbourne Lights and Fantasmic! be seen on the same night or is that impossible. Just wondering if anyone hase ever done this before.

Thanks for any information.

Yes, it can. We did this very thing back in December last year. Go straight from Fantasmic out to view the lights. Of course, everybody in Fantasmic went along with us!! LOL!

Yep, you can. They allow Fantasmic viewers to see the lights after the Fantasmic show. Just follow the crowds all heading toward the lights.

Another yes you can. To get a jump on the crowd for the lights we left Fantasmic just after the big ship with all the characters came out. It was nice to not have to wait in line to see all the lights.

We stumbled onto the perfect viewing without even being aware of it. We opted for the Fantasmic dinner package with our meal at Mama Melrose's. I'm pretty sure we had a 3:50 PS. When we exited the restaurant, there was a huge crowd of people, so we instinctively went to our left to try and avoid them. Were we surprised when this little detour led right into the Osbourne Lights area. As we passed through, they blocked off that entrance, but we were somehow already inside and didn't stand in any line. We made it through and then on to Fantasmic. Of course, if we had tried to plan it that way, it never would have worked.

Adding to the OP's original question....
Assuming a 7pm Fantasmic, can we do that, then Osbourne Lights, then take the boat to Epcot for 9:30 Illuminations? Any tips?

TammiMcMan-- Do you think we can plan to do Osbourne Lights the way you did or was that just a fluke thing? Plus, was it dark enough? I think sundown is 5:30 that time of year.

If I planned it, I don't think it would have happened that way. You can certainly try though. I'd say if you're in that area (to the left and then behind Mama Melrose's) by about 5:15pm, it might work for you. It was just getting dark at that point, but when we walked back towards Fantasmic, the line to get into Osbourne Lights was all the way to the Mickey Sorcerer's Hat. If I had to pick only 2 things on your list, I'd go with Osbourne Lights and Illuminations. I'm just not a big fan of Fantasmic. I saw it for the first time this past December and I can say in all honesty, that I wouldn't plan on watching it again. The holiday showings of Illuminations though, that I could watch every night.

Thanks for the great advice. I'm going to scrap Fantasmic until the kids can "handle" the villians a little better. As of right now, they plant their heads into our bodies even when the villians stroll by in a parade. Based on what I read, Fantasmic will probably be a bit much for them. I'll give your shortcut a whirl and report back.

During evening EMH, I have to wonder how all of this will work also. :scratchin Maggie

If you skip Fantasmic, and think you'll see Osborne lights during that time (yes, it is much less crowded then), don't make the mistake I did. I guess I didn't time it well, because after I got done with seeing the Osborne Lights and decided to leave the parks, Fantasmic got out. Fighting the mobs coming toward Osborne lights from Fantasmic, I definitely felt like a fish swimming upstream! Next time I'll time it better to miss those crowds.

Last year when I went I decided to skip Fantasmic (still haven't seen it!! LOL) and see the Osbourne lights and then hop on the bus to Epcot (right as Fantasmic was starting) and I was able to walk 1 time around World Showcase, get my fish & chips for dinner and had enough time to eat before Illuminations started. With the holiday ending it made it more magical!! I loved Illuminations before but I really loved it then. Hopefully one of these trips I will make it to Fantasmic but most likely not anytime soon. :confused3

I would be VERY careful about trying to do the lights after Fantasmic!!

We had been doing this for a few years with no problems, so we were SHOCKED when it didn't happen dor us last year!

We went straight for the lights as soon as Fantasmic let out, only to be met with a barracade of CM's not letting lots of ANGRY people through.

Seems they were having a private party that evening, and were not allowing anyone back to see the lights after Fantasmic because technically the park was closed. We had never had this problem before, and I had even asked earlier in the day to be sure we could still do it, and was told yes! :confused3

The worst part about the whole thing was that we had taken the whole trip as a gift to my Grandmother who had been suffering from cancer all year. She had never been before, and I can't tell you how bad I wanted her to see it. As luck would have it, all this happened on our last night, so that was that....no Osborne Lights.

I was so devestated. I know people thought I was crazy I cried so hard, but I just wanted things to be perfect for her.

Was this around the first week of December (the 10th)? If so, it was a private party for the Pop Warner kids. We had an Illuminations cruise scheduled for that night and we noticed it when our driver took us on a lake tour. I figured something was up though, because when we were planning the trip, the studios was open til 8pm every night except for that one. It was scheduled to close at 7pm instead.
