Fantasmic or Spectro

I could see Fantasmic! every night!! WE have been listening to the CD in the car this past week, and without fail, EVERY single time, I get goosebumps and cry just hearing the finale! It is the most amazing show at Walt Disney World!! :)

Fantasmic!!! We are seeing it the first night we go because it is so magical and we want to start the vacation off on a magical note!!!

I too would do both. BUT!!!!! Fantasmic is the pinnacle of Disney! The show just fills you with magic and makes you feel like a kid no matter what age you are. My group were all in their mid 20's and we were choked up from happy tears. Especially when Mickey appears at the top of the mountain...wow!

I was really let down by Fantasmic........all it seemed to be was images projected onto water...I had waited hours for what I thought was going to be an amazing fireworks show and when i got there...I wasn't what I really waited that long to see. I went to the last showing of it for the night and they didn't bring out the fire breathing dragon(which was what I wanted to see) they just set the lake on fire. I am not sure if i should set through it again...maybe it was just a bad performance. I would do spectro and wishes in a heart beat...those are just really magical...so that would be my vote!

Do both! We had tons of time :) After Fantasmic we took the buses to TTC, and the ferry to MK and we still had plenty of time before the SpectroMagic Parade started. They are both awesome, a great way to end your magical day at the park :wizard:

We're going to be there the exact same time :cool1: Hopefully you've noticed they've added another Spectro for that Monday night, May 2nd. At least that is what I remember. I had planned to see Fantasmic on the 2nd and I'm just going to keep my dinner package.

If you are one of the poor sods who has never seen the original (and truly amazing—worth the price of admission by itself) Fantasmic! at Disneyland, you might want to consider going at WDW. If, however, you ever think you might have the chance to go to the California show, elect anything over wasting your time at MGM.

By contrast, the Florida show is a thrown-together, afterthought of a “try-to-get-people-at-our-mistake-of-a-park” wretched piece of floating pond scum presentation.

Watching cast members scrape gum off the concrete is a better show.

Enjoy!

I vote Spectromagic - the swelling sounds of that music makes my heart race and almost (well, OK, does) bring a tear to my eye.

To be honest, while we enjoyed Fantasmic, we do NOT find it to be highly repeatable (sort of a BTDT feeling). Spectro, OTOH, is something that we'll plan the rest of yoru trip around.

Y'know, we saw Fantasmic first at DL - boy, talk about a guest-UNfriendly setting. No real seating (at least not in Sept 2002); you have to sit on rough cement for a few hours :(. We much prefered the entire enviroment at Fantasmic MGM.

FANTASMIC!!!!!! Hands down-
IMHO Disney at its best- :earboy2:

The CD is a staple in our car--the Opening and Finale bring a smile to my face each and every time I hear it- :music:
It's just so uniquely Disney that I can't imagine a trip to the world without it :p

enjoy!

Where are you guys looking to see when the Spectro Magic parades are scheduled? Right now looking on the Steve Soares site it seems like it's running on every night but saturday in may. D'oh, saturday was the day we had scheduled for it.

We have seen Spectro a few times, Fantasmic only once. We had to wait so long our newly potty trained daughter ended up peeing her pants. After a two and a half year wait, we're going to try again next month. Hopefully I won't pee MY pants, waiting so long. Be prepared to have your butt take on the shape of the concrete and steel seats. Owie!

Hmm... I can honestly say I don't think Fantasmic would move me to tears. The only show that's capable of that is Wishes. If you're looking to be amazed then I say skip both and go see Illuminations. If you're looking for sentimental values, then definately Spectro and Wishes if possible.

SpectroMagic is, in my opinion, better than Fantasmic. Fantasmic is good, I'll give it that, but my sister even said as we were walking about that she wouldn't want to see it again. The DVDs hype it up and make it look, I think, bigger and better than what it is. I was disappointed with the dragon Maleficent. The "water screens" are impressive, but that's really it. And if you can see Spectro and Wishes right after, well then there's just no competition.

I think the night shows go in order of park attendance rates for the year: Spectro/Wishes, Illuminations, and Fantasmic. Poor Animal Kingdom...
