My kids are 6 and will be 4 when we go to WDW in May. Should I try to book the Fantasmic dinner show or are they too young? What time is the first show?
Thanks:yay:

The first show depends on when you go. We love Fantasmic. My DD was 6 and my niece was 5 and they were fine. My DD tends to be a scardy cat, and refuses to do a lot of things, so the fact that she loved it says a lot. However at 4 I don't think it would have worked for her, taking that into consideration. I think when Maleficent :maleficen turns into the life size dragon is the scariest part. If your younger one tends to be afraid of loud noises and scary music, and of course big dragons :lmao: , you might want to skip this one. You could try to make the reservations and if when you are at other parks you find you are having some issues with being afraid of things cancel them and do something else, assuming that is a possibility. Having not done this one before I am not sure what the cancellation policy is.

DD has seen it at 2, 3 & 4.....she was fine at every age but this last time she LOVED it. When the commercial in DL comes on that shows the dragon during Fantasmic she has to watch it and yells for me to come see it too.

But...she is pretty fearless.

My boys were 2 & 4 the first time we went to Fantasmic. Next time we added a 16 month old. Everyone loved the show. The worst part is having to get there early enough to get a good seat. The kids get bored. But Fantasmic is a show that shouldn't be missed, it's great.

My kids love Fantasmic!

The first time we went, DD was 4 and though she was scared of Haunted Mansion, Fantasmic was fun for her. Just tell the kids ahead of time that it will be loud and there will be lots of bright fireworks. I also told DD she could hide her face or sit in my lap if she wanted, which she did a few times.

i would wait a little while. when I saw fantasmic my cousin was nine at the time and she started hysterically crying at the time. I was about 11 and I was fine. Just wait until they get a bit older and it will be fine.

My dd's loved Fantasmic!! We went two years ago so my youngest were 8. If they've. We didn't do the Fantasmic dinner package, we just went to Fantasmic (actually twice that week)

I will be honest Fantasmic is something to see, but it can be scary for children. My children were 9,6, and 4 when they saw it for the first time. While my 9 yr old liked it, my 6 and 4 year olds hid their faces for most of it. It is loud, and there is a scene where all of the Disney villians are presented and they kind of progress and transform from one to another. There is evil laughing and cackling going on, and shadowed horsemen appear. This part of the show scared my childen worse than the huge dragon. From my observations, most of the younger children around us were crying and hiding their faces too.

It is a hard call to make. If your children are not timid, then I would try it. It is someting to see. Just be warned that your children might not like it.

I have read so many reviews from parents and for me the jury is still out- we skipped it last time with 15m old, but now she will be a little over 2- really it depends for us on how tired she is and if we make it that late.

I think its a kid-by kid basis
you can always try it and leave if you dont like it.
