Fantasmic on Extra Magic Hour: Wing it??

We are trying not to do the Fantasmic Dinner package while at MGM. (not real happy with dinner choices) So we thought we would just bring in some counter service meals to the stadium while waiting for Fantasmic to start.

Possible problem: This will be the Extra magic hour night for MGM. So will the park be overloaded? There is only one showing of Fantasmic that night.

ALSo. This is the first night of the Osbourne Family lights over in MGM. I know we can't do both since the lights are only on from 6pm to 7pm and Fantasmic starts at 7pm!! Do you think this will reduce the number of people waiting at Fantasmic. What is a realistic time to go before the show starts and get decent seats?

Should I just go to MGM another night? Or do you think we definitely need to be booking at Dinner package to get a seat in the stadium.

This is Monday November 13th. Just a note the MVMCP is going on for the first time that night at MK. Do you think this will increase the crowds at MGM that night or reduce them?

Well i worked at mgm over the summer 6 days a week. In late august we were down to one showing of fantasmic a night, inc on EMH nights. On regular night you could get a seat 20 minutes prior no problem, on EMH nights it was a likley that it would fill up by 30 minutes before, so you'd want to get there at least an hour before. I think you should try and see the Lights at MGM, then get on a boat to Epcot to see Illuminations, then try an see fantasmic another night.
