Hi all!
I'm sitting at the pool at the villas waiting for my kids to become waterlogged and remembered I was supposed to post about fantasmic!!! It was awesome last night. However, being I've only seen it at WDW I had some OMG moments!

We ate dinner at 5 at blue bayou. People were already lining up on their blankets to watch it!!! I've never seen anything like it before at a Disney park

then we spotted the podium by the churro cart (about 6:45) and went to ask. My husband ended up standing in that line to check in for seats which started at 8. Seating for the dessert was at 8:30 for the 9 o'clock show

in the meantime while he was in line I thought I'd take the kids over to ride buzz lightyear. People were already staking out their seats for the fireworks!!!! Absolutely crazy!!!

I'll post more when we get back on the 6th of June.

Thanks to everyone who supplied me with so much info before this trip!

How were the F! preferred seating? I'm doing it tomorrow and hoped they are worth the price. I watched F! from right behind the seating last night, and it seems that light poles in front of the seating area could cause an issue.:confused3

How much do the tickets cost for preferred seating?

The seats are dead center to the stage. We had absolutely nothing in our line of sight. Enjoy the show!

DH probably won't go for it, but I get so tempted to do the F! Dessert Package every time I read threads like these. I'm sure it would save a lot of trouble since we have our 2 yr. old in stroller, but I guess I will have to just try the 2nd show. :sad1:

So, do you still have to stand in line 2 hours before the show to get great seats within the seating area?!

We will have a 6 year old and 2 year old with us and it would be nice to be able to see. Do people within the seated area stand up at the fence (like at a concert when the people in front of you stand, forcing you to stand) or are they told to all stay seated? If we checked in at 8:30 would we still have an awesome view?

Thanks!!

Saw Fantasmic last night...amazing. We were on the riverfront 3 hours early. We tried doing the 10:30 show the night before, but when we arrived at 10:00 there was NO seating.

We were there on Friday night, too. Didn't watch the show, as we knew our daughter would be scared by it. Glad because people really did start staking out spots (with blankets!) at 5:00 or so... ZEALOTS, I tell you!

The fireworks weren't as good as Wishes, IMO, but seeing Dumbo fly around the castle was pretty sweet!

No they cannot stand within the seated area or even in front of the seating area no one can stand up.

If you checked in at 8:30 you would get a back row seat kids might not be able to see that well.

Best thing to do is go line up early only 1 person in your party has to while you and the kids do something else while the person in line picks your seats.

We were there on Friday night (opening night) and we went to the fireworks with the plan to go to the 2nd showing of Fantasmic. We headed from Main Street through Frontierland after the fireworks and got to the river only to find that it was PACKED and there was hardly anywhere to sit/stand!!!! :confused3 How can this be when the 1st show should've just cleared out!?!??! We got a spot, barely out of the walkway, but it seemed like there were masses of people who hadn't even left after the 1st show....or maybe they hide back on Royal Street and just pounce on the riverfront as soon as the first show is over....:confused3

This happens for a few reasons:
1) No one has to clear out, they can stay for both shows if they want (and some people do).
2) There is not an official "clearing out" so even as you are coming in for the 2nd show, if people are taking their time leaving the area (to let the crowd disperse), they will still be there as you arrive.
3) Lots of people will watch the fireworks from over by Critter Country, Frontierland, and over by the Royal Street shops (as you mentioned), then move down (or "pounce" as you call it :goodvibes) to the riverfront for seats to be ahead of the "Main Street fireworks crowd." They get seats for Fantasmic! in exchange for not getting such a great view of the fireworks. That's the trade-off that you have to figure out which is more important - especially on really busy nights, like when Fantasmic! has just returned to the Park. :goodvibes
