As Girimama33 said, for the last few years, Fantasmic using has a refurb from the end of the Holiday season until mid-February. The dates for 2014 were 1/6 to 2/13 and for 2013 the dates were 1/7 to 2/14. When it is running, it will usually only be presented on Fri, Sat, and Sun.

That's one of the reasons the crowd calendars have the first two week of Feb as empty. You can go there, but the water rides and Fantasmic! will be down.
