Can someone please explain what the value to using my first fast pass @ HS for Fantasmic would be ? We did not go to this park last year with magic bands. We will be traveling over Veteran's Day holiday, so wondering if this is my best option for choice #1? We have the day to spend at the park, probably arrive around 10am, and DS has never seen this show, but has done all other rides.

What a FP+ for F! offers is more CHOICE in seating.

If you DO get a F! FP+, you can choose to sit in either the FP section (virtually the entire left half of the theater) or the Standby section (virtually the entire right half of the theater.)
So, whatever section has the better seating at the time you arrive, you can go there.
Without a FP, you can only choose a seat in the Standby section.

There is a very good chance that you can get a FP+ for F! as a 4th or 5th FP of the day because they issue SO MANY of them (enough to cover nearly the entire left half of the seating.)
On many nights, it is possible that you can gat a FP+ for F! as you are walking to the theater.

As to when to arrive at the theater, I'd get to there 45-60 minutes before the show-time.
Even with a FP or Dining Pkg. reservation, don't wait too late.
On busy nights, the CMs can stop holding the reserved sections within 20-30 minutes before show-time, and turn over any available seats to waiting walk-in guests.

There can also be a "pre-show" (such as it is) that can help pass the last 30 minutes before show time.

(First or Only F! performance of the evening)

Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red= Dining Package Reserved
Blue= FP+ Reserved
Purple= Can be either FP+ or Dining Plan Reserved, depending on needs.

(Second or Third F! performance of the evening)
Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating
Red, Purple, Blue= FP+ Reserved
(Although much of the outer Blue will likely be used for Standby.)

It's great if you want a good choice in seating and don't want to spend forever in line to do so.

I would NOT select it as my tier 1 selection. Use it for something else and then you more than likely will be able to get Fantasmic as a 4th FP.

We use the FP to basically sit front and center. Still show up about 45 min-1 hour before showtime, wait about 10 min in line, then head into the arena. Now if you don't care about being too close, you don't have to show up that early. But know that once people start heading in, it fills up quick.

And there are concession stands inside selling drinks, beer, food, etc

If we use FP, is it possible to have someone in our party leave to grab food outside, and still get back into the FP area?

If that's the plan, just buy the food before you enter, and bring it in with you.
It a very, very long walk between the theater and the food vendors back on the street outside the theater.

And, as was mentioned, there is a concession stand inside the theater at the rear of the seating area.

Does anyone know where the handicap seating would be? Is it just on the top of every section? My mom will be in a scooter due to knee surgery on our next trip but we'd like to see Fantasmic! as we've never seen it before.

Top row of every section.
Arrive at least an hour before show-time as the handicapped areas for scooters can run out quickly.
