My siblings and I will be visiting WDW in mid January and we would like to know if it is really necessary to be at Fantasmic as early as many Disney published guides suggest. We love Disney's nighttime shows, but we don't want to wast an hour or even a half-hour waiting around. Is it possible to show up near showtime and be admitted to the amphitheatre? We aren't fussy about being up front or anything.

Also, we would like to view another older nighttime show, the Electrical Water Pageant, on the lagoon. It is kind of nostalgic as I remember seeing it as a child. We will be staying off property, so is there a resort or someplace we can access to see the show on the night we arrive? I would appreciate any suggested places or times. Thanks so much.

You can make reservations for somewhere like Whispering Canyons at WL and after dinner work your way to the beach to see the show. We were there the second week of Dec. and it was cool.

Good luck

I think the biggest problem you would have with getting into Fantasmic at the last minute would be that you may have to stand for the performance, and if someone taller is standing in front of you, it would impede your vision. The few times we went to fantasmic, once all the seats were taken, they really CRAMMED people into the standing area, {in back of the last row of seats} We haven't gone in a couple of years, so maybe someone can shed some light on possible changes made to this method of shoe-horning bodies into the stadium.

Fantasmic is almost always crowded. The only exception to that is when they run two shows. The second show is not as crowded but it is later in the evening. Usually they only run two shows in peak times or weekends.

The only way to avoid waiting an hour or more for a seat is to book the pkg. Even then you are warned they open the reserved seats up a half our before showtime. So if you have a reserved seat you need to be there half hour before the show.
