I am planning a trip in Oct and wanted to know if anyone had any advice as to what time I should make the dinner reservations for in the Fantasmic Dinner Package?

If you are booking the package, the latest available reservation is 5:30 usually.

Depending on which restaurant you choose, you may not have much choice of times. As another poster mentioned, you probably won't get anything past 5:30, and if you want Mama Melrose and don't call at 180 days, you may end up with a 3:30 time! I guess MM is the most popular as it is a good value if you are on the dining plan.

I was able to get 5:00 at Mama Melrose for our night of arrival at 180 days out. So call right at 180 days if you can.

We are thinking about this package at the end of Oct. I was wondering if it is worth it. We will be on the DDP and haven't decided which place to eat. Either Mama Rosa if we go with the package or Sci Fi if we don't. There is 11 of us going 4 adults 7 children. What is everyones thoughts on using the package at that time of year with that many people.

I called at 180 days for a reservation at the Brown Derby and the latest time that I could get was for 4:00. I can't decide whether I would really need the Fantasmic package in September, but since we're traveling with small children I decided that ultimately it would be nice not to have to worry about getting to the theater too early. We missed Fantasmic last year so we're looking forward to seeing it this year.

We were there September 1 - 9 last year and Fantasmic was packed. We didn't do the first show, but the second show at 10:00 and the stadium was packed. So it might be best you have the package.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will cross my fingers and hope for the best when I call in :)

I called about at about 170 days, and I got a 5:20 pm ADR for our FDP at Mama Melrose's. That was the latest time available. However, 2 years ago, I was able to snag a 6:20 pm ADR for our FDP at Mama Melrose's. But, if I remember correctly, I think I actually had an earlier ADR & got that 6:20 by calling at 90 and 60 days to see if any later times had been released.

They will give you only a few times to choose from and they are usually very early! But I've found that later ADR times do get released when the time gets closer, I think I got a later time at about 25 days out (calling every day starting at 30 days out).

No matter what, though, they will not give you an ADR that is less than 2 hours before the show. They feel that 2 hours minimum is needed to eat and get to the show.
