Fantasmic Dinner Pkg.?

We are coming back to WDW in Aug. 2011 for 11 nights, everyone wants to go to Fantasmic this year, we've missed it the past couple of years, so DH wants to do a Dining Pkg. So my question is if we do infact go with a package, which restaurant should we choose Mama Melroses or Hollywood & Vine. We won't do Brown Derby, as its 2 TS. Help.... Thanks!!

I've done F! Dining at H&V....

I've done F! Dining at HBD....

Of the two I recommend F! DIning at H&V.... Here is my review...

You don't mention who is in your family and their food preferences... I would suggest it would depend on the menu....

I Definitely WILL try MM's F! Package next visit...but probably won't have the whole family with me.... so will be easier to please ...

The Buffet option is the cheaper option AND being a Buffet... It will satisfy most everyone's needs....

I was just wondering this yesterday, for the same reasons. I searched the search box, and came up with this thread (hope its ok for me to post the link) I hope this helps...it definitely helped me make my decision!!

We did the F! package at Mama Melrose and plan to do it again next summer. We enjoyed our meal. I have also done breakfast at H&V and while we enjoyed it, it was nothing special. I think it really depends on your family though. Have a great trip.

We did the F! package at H&V back in 2005. I was fine with it, but my wife didn't like it at all. That seems to be common, some people are fine with it and some people will never go back.

We're going back in May, '11 with a group of 10 and we're going to do the F! package at Mama Melrose.

We have been to H&V before (non F dining package) and didn't care for it. The food was cold, service was not so great, and there were more dirty tables around then clean ones and there were no patrons at those tables. When we return in May, we are going to try and get a F dining package for MM. We ate here on our March '10 trip and really enjoyed it. This will be our first time doing the F dining package.

H&V is the ONLY Disney restaurant I will never return to. I feel like i can get the same food at Morrisions at home for less than half the price. We only did it because it was the only fantasmic package open at 180 days out. Last year we ate at both Mama Melrose and Brown Derby. Both were good, but Brown Derby is better. If you can get it, the Mama Melrose package would be the way to go. I have not been able to get it in 3 years of trying at exactly 180 days out.

Just to get this straight, you can use your dining credits for the Fantasmic dinner package? I paid out of pocket for this last time so I can't remember if that was an option? Do I need to call or can I book this online?

You can use dining credits & you need to call. You couldn't do it online when we booked it for 6/10.

To OP: we did MM, but if we do it again, I'd try H&V just for something different.
