What restaurants participate in this?

DH has already said he doesn't want to do the 50s Prime Time Cafe this trip - he wants to try something new, and thinks he'd like to do the dinner package so that we have "better" seats. With that being said, can we book the dinner package with our DP?

Yes you can use the DP for the package. But you have to call (last I checked) for it. Can't book it online. Restaurants are Mama Mel Rosa, Hollywood and Vine, and Brown Derby. I've never been able to get into them since the number of seats is so limited. I would call on you 180 day mark as early as you can.

Now you can book it online, just choose in the Dining Reservation form the Dining Event option :)

Just thought I would note that the the dinner package doesn't get you "better" seats really. It will get you in a reserved area off to the far right of the theater. Although it is off to the right and not in the center the viewing is good. We have never had a problem seeing and do the package everytime we see Fantasmic. It is first come first serve seating, so you will still need to arrive early but will be able to sit in the area. If you come too late to the area, Disney may have already opened it to other guests.

Enjoy your trip. :wizard:

You also do not have to sit in the designated area either. If you walk in and see seats in the center front, feel free to go over there. The package will let you in a different door, so it's almost always easier to get yourself to those better seats. But yes, you still must arrive early.

ours online for our upcoming trip. I found a slightly better time a little later and booked that one. The online system simplifies things. It picked up automatically on the double booking and asked me which I wanted to cancel. No need for a call to cancel.

As mentioned, it is part of the DDP. There is an option to choose that online. It's the same number of credits as normal; two at HBD and one at Hollywood and Vine and Mama Melrose. The trade off is that the time selection is limited. It appears currently that the ADRs have to be from 1:30 - 5:00. Apparently they are trying to fill these restaurants up during their slower times.

Do call early. We didn't decide to do this until about a month after our 180 day. I got a 4:05 at Mam Melrose' and later changed that to 4:45. Now for late June there is little left. I was playing around and the last show in August, the current furthest out, has limited ADRs for a party of four at only the HBD.

booking the pkg this trip, BD not worth 2 TS, HATED H & V and Mama Melrosed out, we have in the past. Another advantage is that you get an appy with your meal on the pkg even on DDP.
