Fantasmic dinner package

We're going 6/5 - 610, is it necc to do the Fantasmic dining package for the early show? Can you get good seats arriving 1/2 hour early?

We just got back from WDW. We were at Fantasmic on Friday Night. We had the dinner package and people were going in WITH the package an hour before. We did also and saw that the regular section was filled except for the very far left side. So if you are not going to do the package I would get the 1 1/2 hours early.
Now.... We went last Nov and it was a very different story. We were able to get pretty good seats without the package an hour before.

and we can't get a Fantasmic Dinner Package PS anywhere for any of the nights that we will be there. All three restaurants are booked for all four nights that we will be there and I've been trying to book this PS for weeks (since June hours came out).

We've never had this problem before. My girls really want to see Fantasmic this trip (we didn't see it in January-- TOO COLD!!!) and we have no desire to stand in line for 1 1/2 to 2 hours before the show starts.

Does anyone know if there is any big event going on at MGM that week or something out of the ordinary that would explain this? Is it possible that they will release more FDP PS times at 30 days out? Has anyone else had this problem recently? I just find it hard to belive that all three restaurants are booked every night that we will be there. It just seems odd.

bear in mind that more times will be released around the 30 day mark...I was able to get reservations originally for June 6, but due to friends joining us on the trip, we have to change our reservation and I will be calling regularly hoping to get lucky....
