Hey there!

We're leaving for Disney World this friday, can't believe it!!!

They still are some tables at Mama Melrose's for the Fantasmic Dinner Package and I'm wondering about the price of that package : is it a prix fixe or you simply pay for what you're eating and you get a free ticket for seating for the show?

In 5 visits, we have never use it and are considering using it this time. We use that option in Disneyland for World of Color and it was well worth it...

Thanks in advance!

Its fixed pricing and I believe comes with an appetizer and dessert. If you are on a dining plan, its 2 TS credits and even if you are on regular DP, you get the app still. If its OOP, its fixed pricing. You get a voucher for the special seating for the show.

I believe the only one that is 2TS is Brown Derby - H&V and MM are 1TS.

only 1 credit at Mama Melrose. The out of pocket price we paid was around $33 for an adult. That covers an appetizer, entree and dessert and you can choose any item on the menu. I have read of some people that use the package on the dining plan and give the F! passes to other people. They pick up the appetizer which is not usually available on the plan for free.

This is the second time I've seen the # of TS credits come up recently. We only did the F!Pkg for our Dec trip, but we were offered a last minute slot for our August 2011 trip and I know for certain that as of 2 months ago- ONLY Brown Derby requires 2 TS credits...i.e. Mama Melrose and Hollywood & Vine are 1 TS credit for the pkg. When we did it back in Dec of 2010 - we did the pkg at Mama Melrose and it most definitely was only 1 TS credit. All of the various WDW info sites also back up this info.

That being said- if you plan on Fantasmic- the plan is TOTALLY worth it. While the service was slow and took us some time to be seated, we really enjoyed Mama Melrose and not having to wait to get into Fantasmic was PRICELESS! :goodvibes

I've done Brown Derby which is 2 TS credits, but you're right that MM and H&V are only 1 TS credit. My mistake.

That's great news! I was thinking it was 2 because it was a package.

Is it worth it if F! is playing every night? We are going in Dec and i'm not looking forward to waiting in line. We are on the DlxDP.

They added F! every night during our last trip in late September. Because of this, we cancelled our F! package and opted to take our chances. We got to F! about a half hour before it started and it was standing room only. We found the standing room section to have a fine view and it allowed us to make our way to the exit as the show was ending. I can't see myself arriving any earlier than that just to sit on the bleachers and wait. I did notice that the dining package line was really long but I am sure that they don't hand out more vouchers for the dining package reserved section than they can fit, otherwise they'd have some mad people. So I think you still need to get there a good 30-40 mins ahead of time to ensure being sat on time, and all together.

We did a F! package at Brown Derby last year but I felt sick (not due to BD) and we never stayed for the show. So maybe next time we will try the package with the show.

Thanks! I think I will do the F! pkg. We plan on eating at MM anyways and the reserved seating would be a bonus. We may and may not watch the show. If we don't I can pass the vouchers to someone else and bring some Disney magic there way. :wizard: If we do decide to watch the show then we wouldn't have to wait forever in line. :yay:

My main two problems with the Fantasmic package is that most of their available times are not great--like 3:30 in the afternoon for dinner, and secondly, that you still need to show up early for your seats. They supposedly release the reserved section 30 mins before the show begins, and I believe the vouchers actually say to show up as early as 45 mins before the show.

we have done the packages twice in the past when we have gone over busy spring break times. This past Saturday, Oct 22, was our first time going to Fantasmic during a "slower" time of year (the day was rated a 5 on easywdw). so we did not get a package, but showed up 35 minutes before the first show started at 7:30 pm. (there was a second show that night, so that could come into play as well) There was still room to sit, although it was of course more off to the side. I don't think the show completely filled at all. I think the package is worth it during busier times of the year, but I'm glad I didn't try to make my family eat at 3:30 or so in the afternoon this time!
