Fantasmic! Dinner Package ?

we have neer done this but were thinking it may be the only way to see the show, so where would you eat if you were doing this? We have never eaten at a sit down restaurant at DHS before so we have no previous opinions. We do not want to spend alot of money though, so where should we go, and we have no preference on what kind of food is served! Thanks!

The only restaurants that offer the Fantasmic package in DHS is Hollywood and Vine, Mama Melrose's and The Hollywood Brown Derby. Of the 3, Brown Derby is the most expensive. Hollywood and Vine is basically a buffet (and gets LOTS of bad reviews). Mama Melrose's is Italian and has a good selection in my opinion. We are doing this on our next trip. I booked H&V before I read all the bad reviews and now we are kind of stuck...nothing else is available. This is a HOT ticket...so you are kind of at the mercy of what, if anything is available. If you want to do it and can make ADRs now...I'd call TODAY!

We have eaten at Hollywood and Vine before. I would not say it is our favorite restaurant, but it is not THAT bad. The food is standard buffet style, but not a large selection. We would certainly eat there again if that was what was available. This trip we are going to attempt to get Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Package (can't book until Friday - 90 day mark).

I should have said we've eaten at Hollywood & Vine before too, and the pp is right...it wasn't "horrible". I just didn't think it was worth the cost. I think Mama Melrose's is the way to go...mostly because you get the appetizer, entree and dessert with the package...even if you are on the DDP. Quite a good deal for only using 1 credit per person.

We did H&V fantasmic last year. We really didn't care for the food at all, and felt it was totally not woth the price. We were really glad to have the dininig package seating. We couldn't get Mama Lerose again this year, so we are donig the Brown Derby. I have heard some good reviews. Most people say it is good food, but not really a "signature" restaurant worth 2TS. We wil be making it an OOP meal and using the 2TS elsewhere.
