We are condsidering making an ADR for the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Mama Melrose for our upcoming trip in August. Does anyone know how much time I should allow between our ADR time and the start time of Fantasmic? Unfortunately, the park hours and show times for August are not out yet so it's hard to plan exactly.

The last reservation for dining for the Fantasmic Package is usually at 5:30 so you shouldn't have to worry since the show will not be until 8:00 or 8:30.

You will not actually get much choice on ADR time on the package deals--the dinner packages are scheduled between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. - at the latest. The will not book the package for later meal times. There are a limited number of tables available at each of the 3 restaurants and people obviously would prefer to eat dinner later, so the 5-5:30 ADRs disappear quickly. Actually, recent reports are that all the Fantasmic packages book very quickly.

So you really don't have to worry about having enough time between meal & show--in August you'll probably have at least an hour, if not more if you get stuck with a very early dinner seating. Assuming the show will be at 9:00 in summertime (it has to be dark.) If you're lucky enough to get one of the latest seatings at 5:30, you'll be done by about 6:45 or 7. You should head for the theater by 8, and be in your seat about 8:15 for a 9:00 show. (30 minutes before show time, they take down the ropes on the reserved section and allow standing-room-only crowds to fill in the reserved section.)
