Fantasmic Dinner Package questions...

Hi. Now that I've finally selected our resort I am beginning to work out our dinning selections. We missed Fantasmic last trip, so this time I am making it a priority. I think Mama Mia's is too far away, so I deleted that first from my choices. What do you think about the other two with myself, DH and 2 DD's 5 & 7?

Brown Derby or Hollywood & Vine?

We haven't eaten at either of these places. There is a big difference in price, but I just want to be sure everyone enjoys their meal.

I think H&V is a little better deal when you have kids. It's also a buffet, which means everyone's wants can be met.

If you like Italian, I wouldnt count out Mama Melrose. Its one of our favorite WDW restaurants. While it is not right near the entrance to Fantasmic(Oscars garage, when doing the FDP), its not that long of a walk. And dont forget you may have time between dinner and Fantasmic to get in an attraction or 2 so you may not be going directly from the restaurant to the entrance anyway.

We did H&V last year for the Fantasmic pkg and were disappointed with the offerings. While there are a lot of choices, the quality just wasn't there. For the price, I don't eat enough at a buffet. This being said, we are trying the Brown Derby this time. Since we will be back before you leave, I can let you know.

With young kids I would highly recommend the buffet at H & V. We have eaten at all three places, but I was much more comfortable having my kids at Hollywood and Vine. The buffet for the kiddies is just their level, and the dessert buffet is lots of fun for them..especially the "make your own sundae" part. DH and I ate at Brown Derby without the kids. I don't think my kids would be comfortable there. They are 12 and 9. JMHO
